Choose to boot from your CD, you can do this by going into your system setup on boot by pressing the F2 key, sometimes this key maybe the ESC key so as you boot, watch your screen to see which one is for your system, it usually comes up on your screen somewhere as you boot and reads F2 = Setup, or "Press F2 to Enter Setup". Once in there find your boot sequence and make booting from the CD the first one. Then save and exit. Once you exit, the machine will reboot and start from the CD so have the XP CD already in the drive.

Follow the prompts on the screen and eventually you will be asked where you wish to install XP. On the bottom of the screen you will see certain letters equal certain actions. First make sure your C: drive is selected using the arrow keys. Then press "D" for delete partition. It will make sure that you actually want to do this...just accept all defaults.

Then you must press "C" for create partition. Accept all defaults again and follow the prompts formatting will then proceed in NTFS form. Either quick or normal you can choose. After the yellow bar has completed the format, setup will begin.

Follow the onscreen prompts to setup windows.

After your system wants to reboot after setup remember to go back into your F2 setup and change the boot sequence back to C: then Floppy A: and then your CD drive. C: drive must be first at least. When you exit this time setup will continue.

Windows not booting

Hello,

Regarding on your problem, the main issue their is the booting problem of XP after you delete the fedora operating system. That's common problem especially when the computer are in dual boot OS then you delete the other OS. Now, the reason why it usually fall into this problem its just because the XP is your core OS then you install Linux Fedora inside in XP so whatever changes you have done in fedora particularly deleting Linux OS inside XP affects the overall performance of your XP and eventually if you delete the Fedora without proper unistallation process done by Linux OS then the Boot Loader of your XP will also corrupt or delete that's the main cause of boot failure in your XP OS. Now the best solution there is to repair your XP by inserting the XP CD Installer and boot the CD to repair your OS or you can reinstall the XP OS without formatting the storage to prevent the lost of your data that has not yet already copyed a back up.

Please do this recommendation to save and restore your XP.

thanks

Reformatting problem

Do you mean that you are re-loading windows? if you are when it reboots after re-loading and it says boot/start with cd-rom support do not press enter again or anything else for that matter because if you do it will keep taking you through the whole process again. Once it has loaded and reboots do not press anything it will start windows( even though it gives you the option to start with cd-rom support - just ignore it), itself and take you to the welcome screen etc... once this happens you can take the disk out.
