HD56FH96 Burn in ?

I have had this JVC HD ILA 56 FN97 for 10 months

All was great until two weeks ago I noticed what arrears to be a " burn in " effect.. on white back grounds the large mass appears to be yellowish and looks like you would see if say " a bed sheet was burned by an iron".  On the BLUE screen back drop this burn in is a dark color.  Is this a sign of a lamp going out after 10 months? Is this a temporary issue and what is the fix?    Oh yeah,  when the Blue back drop screen reflects the dark spot that spot appears to move some live a single cell organism the size of a football breathing... That is about the best description I can give

Is there a trouble shooting job here or is it time to pull our Warranty paper and make the call?

I'm having the exact same problem with my set (same HD56F). It's about 12-13 months old. It just showed up a week or two ago. It's most noticable for me when I have a pure white background thrown up. On a pure white screen it shows up as a slightly yellow tinged "blob" slightly off-center towards the lower-right hand side. It takes up about 18% of the screen. When I first noticed it I just figured it was a bulb issue and that it needed to be replaced. I haven't tried that yet, but I also haven't noticed the set getting dim, etc... I'm hoping it is in fact just a bulb issue!

Well Problem identified and solved but you may not want to read it unless you have the warranty papers ready and bought the extended plan..

Tech says Light Engine is faulty. Known issue with these models . Part cost ? Ready ? $1400.00 yes - Solution - Still under JVC warranty so they replaced the part No cost . I did by the stores extended 3 year no "haggle warranty" as well . Good move me... Good luck !

I have a 56" JVC rear projections HD ILA tv.

Turn tv off and unplug it. Take the access door off either side of the tv. Use a dust cleaning tool like a swiffer with an extension (or make one). Clean off lens (most likely the problem). I have the same thing that happens to my JVC 61". You can use a vacuum with extension if your VERY careful.

Gray spots on screen on a JVC HDILA model HD 56G 787

The HD-ila sets accumulate a lot of dust in the light engine. The worst offender is the little fold mirror just under the lens. I take my set apart about every 8 months or so to clean all the dust from the light tunnel and all lenses, mirrors, diffusers etc. The picture really regains it's pop when this is done. Unless you are a skilled technician though, I would recommend against attemptimg this procedure as you need to disconnect the individual color lcds. Check with a local service center to get it properly cleaned.
