Broken thermostat The dial on the thermostat popped out and is broken, and the thermostat can no longer be adjusted.  Does this indicate that the thermostat itself is broken,.and if so how can I fix it?

If its still blowing> cold or hot air? then the therostat is stuck!

if its just shifting air then you can either get it fixed by consulting ye old yellow pages.... OR opening it uo and getting the number/name printed on the switch and posting it here so i can direct you to a website that will happly send you a shiny new one in the mail!

good luck.

Have a second hand Homemaker chest freezer model hmbd155....recently noticed fluid around the floor....? Leaking..don't have a manual and noticed a dial on the bottom left hand corner .What this do..?

The dial Adjusts the temperature. If it is adjusted too cold you might have ice build up underneath the freezer thus causing the fluid that you see. As the freezer is old it can also be that the insulation underneath is a bit old causing the ice build up and fluid leakage. A broken thermostat (dial) will also cause too low temperature inside and possible ice build/fluid leakage.

Just picked up a used machine. The popper gets hot and everything seems to work fine but the popcorn won't pop. It just burns

The most common reason is the THERMOSTAT is short cycling or turning off to soon. It could also be one of the elements is not working any longer if it is a kettle with more than one? You should find the small red inducator light and monitor it during a popping cycle. If it's going out early on in the cycle that indicates the thermostat has opened and not calling for heat. Depends on the model, you can adjust it or replace it. I suggest calling a Cretors dealer.

Adjusting the settings on a fridge thermostat

You've indicated that you have changed the thermostat but the model number you have given is electronically controlled via an NTC. If the the unit is built in there is a possibility that one of the following is causing the problem
a. the seal is no longer catching properly because the decor door needs adjusting.
b. the internal lamp is not switching off when door closes and is creating heat that the fridge is trying to compensate for
c. the fridge fan is not operating and not circulating the air to the sensor. (You can check the fan and light by pressing the switch at the top of the fridge compartment frame, the fan should run and the lamp go off when the button is pressed).
Try these first and repost if this does not help.

Is there a thermostat on my vulcan model number 6809L?

Every water heater has a thermostat. if it did't then the water would continue to heat until the pop off valve blew. not a good thing. The thermostat is usaully under the front panel and has a dial on it to change settings. Note that some newer water heaters have an electronic thermostat but still has adjustments.

Our thermostat is set on 73 degrees, but it won't heat past 67 degrees.

pull the cover off the front of the t-stat [just pops off easy] you will see alittle copper dial usually on the left left side called a heat antisapator, move it to .3 this will allow the heat to stay on alittle longer
