Are you doing DESTRUCTIVE recoveries or are you doing NONDESTRUCTIVE recoveries? Try another hard drive in the machine and recover to that. Nondestructive recoveries replace the operating system without destroying the personal data. Its possible the original problem is propagating over to the recovered systems. Do a destructive recovery. Understand any data not backed up will be destroyed. Possible the original problem was a trojan virus.

SOURCE: Sony vaio laptop unable to detect new hard disk

Hello,

Try connecting the drive to another pc with a usb adapter, create a partition and format it. Then put the drive back in the vaio and reinstall windows. This should fix the problem.

How can you learn to spell dennythedon3003 - CUTOMER is not an English word - could it be your native language? operating system not found, vaio laptop

Hi,
Looks like the OS is corrupted, but you can restore it by restoring to the previous date, for that you need the OS installation cd. Just insert the cd and wait for few munites to load files, then you will see the restoring option.
Hope this helps, thanks for using fixya!

I need to know if i can recover the Operating System on my Sony laptop it has a OEM harddrive I lost the Operating System by Mistake can i recover the Operating System Through the BIO"S or dose it...

How did you lose the operating by mistake? Did you format the drive?
You can not recover the operating system from the bios. But you may have a choice when the computer boots up there may be a recovery option, you can try that. If not you would have to reinstall or try a repair from a vista disk if you can borrow one from someone. Please let me know if I can offer any other help, Thanks for using FixYa

THE OS IS CORRUPTED AND THE CD ROM DOESN'T WORK . I HAVE INSTALLED AN EXTERNAL DVD ROM TO REINSTALL THE OS BUT STILL IT WON'T BOOT

it seems like a motherboard issue, after all you have done. you may need to replace the motherboard since it should boot up to the external drive if the issue is the hard drive alone.

Installing Vista on new hard drive- CD/DVD Driver not found

Are you installing from the SONY-supplied "System Restore" CD/DVD disks, or from a "generic" Vista DVD-ROM?

The SONY disks _should_ have the correct drivers for your notebook computer.

How to format sony vaio pcg-4 series

Boot from the "System Restore" CD-ROM.
One of the "setup" options for XP (or for Vista) is to "format" the entire disk-space, before continuing with the re-install.
