HOW TO DISMANTLE A TEFAL ULTRAGLIDE EASYCORD 60 IRON

I HAVE REMOVED ALL 3 VISIBLE SCREWS SECURING THE BACK PLATE AND UNCLIPED THE TOP FROM THE BASE BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME OTHER FIXING THAT IS SECURING THE TOP TO THE BASE. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

SOURCE: Tefal Express 1750 has water dripping from it when using steam

That means that water is not heated properly and does not produce steam.

Try a complete descaling, often this happens because the water reservoir and heating element is covered with scale.

SOURCE: how to clean my iron

Put a tablespoon of vinegar in a glass of water and pour it into the water tank let the iron set for about an hour pour the water out and rince real good the sediment should be gone if not use sometning stronger like diluted "LimeAWay".

Replace worn electrical cord

Terminal block is fastened/secured with body by a screw but before removing the terminal block from body, make sure that the iron element terminals are also disconnected. this can be done by opening the screws on other side of the cord terminals-3 in number as also in the cord. Otherwise the terminal block would not come out fully.In any case you normally do not need to remove the terminal block.

The auto stp security light is on and the iron does not heat up i have a tefal ultra glide iron

i'm not quite sure what the STP security light is but on my iron a security light comes on when the iron is idle. It shuts the power to the iron when no movement has happened mine is about 5 mins.

Tefal steam iron not heating up properly

That is probably because the contacts to the element at the base of the iron are broken.

To disassemble you have to remove the casing, then remove the steam pump at front top of iron and then undo the safety screw mounted on the front of the base plate.

Red light on

Per the owner manual, you shake the iron to "wake it back up".

The safety cycle initiates after it sits over 8 minutes on it's heel, or on it's sole plate or it's side side for more than 30 seconds. The light shoul dbe blinking when it is in the safety mode.

If you can't wake it up, then return it if it is still under new warranty.
