Yes, a TurnTable can be connected to any of the Analog Audio Input ports on the Sony STRDH130 Receiver. However, the turntable signal will need amplification from an external pre-amplifier (or an inline amplifier) as this Receiver does not have a PHONO input.
If there are no specific phono inputs, then a phono pre-amp must be purchased. These usually cost around $20. This pre-amp will boost the signal level to that of a CD player or tape deck so that either a tape input or aux input can be used. Once you have the pre-amp, just connect its output to an open input on the receiver.
It will need a pre-amp to connect it to your newer amp. The old style turntables normally used a magnetic cartridge that older receivers / amplifiers had a special phono input (which incorporated an internal pre-amp) to connect and hear at normal volume settings. Newer receivers / amplifiers normally do not have this type of phono input, thus the need for an external pre amp device.
You have to make sure your unit is connected to the PHONO INPUT connection on your receiver. If your receiver does not have a PHONO INPUT connection, then you will need to buy what's called a PHONO PRE-AMP - AVAILABLE HERE.
You connect the turntable to the Phono Pre-Amp, then you connect the Pre-Amp to the LINE IN or AUX IN of your receiver.
you can't...the technics need to be pluged into phono..because the signal has to be amplified for it to play...phono channels on amps and dj mixers have an amp built in....
