SOURCE: oil filled heater wont stay on

I was having the same problem and did a search to find this link. This morning when I turned it on, I backed the temperature down to 66 when it first came on (defaults to 70) and it appears to be working now (it's been on for over 10 minutes)

SOURCE: won't stay on

mso 9]> Normal 0 mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> Warning this will disable the tip over sensor, Unit will not automatically turn off when knocked over!!

I had the same problem with the "F" appearing and the unit turning off. I read a similar post about the hz-709, that talks of removing the "tip over sensor". To remove the sensor, "two little black boxes on one chip, that rattles like there is a ball bearing in each box."
Remove two small screws on the bottom of the heater then remove two small screws on the top of the heater "top screws are under a small cap that can be popped of with a flat head screwdriver."
Inside long panel front Unplug three wires, White Brown Blue "remember where they where plugged in, so you can plug then back in later."
Inside long panel front there is a silver panel with eight screws on it only the, only the four "corner" screws have to be removed to remove silver panel.
remove silver panel then remove remaining 4 screws, Now remove front control from long panel front, there are 6 screws only have to remove the four inner screws, Open white box, slip large chip off three prongs,
there are two small blue wires connecting to the two small black boxes from the beginning of this post, cut wire from box, twist or solder together, and tape with electrical tape.
"You have just removed/disable the tip over sensor, Unit will not turn off when knocked over!!"
Reverse steps reassemble the unit and enjoy.

SOURCE: Gas fireplace pilot flame won't stay lit.

Hi , you can try and pull the panel on the bottom of fireplace out and check the adapter in fireplace. Sometimes they go bad. When you open in also check to see if there is an adapter plugged in and a option to use the battery operated function. If this goes bad the pilot will not stay lit.

SOURCE: heater will fire but wont stay lit.

I assume that you are referring to a natural gas forced air furnace. If so you just described the symptoms of a dirty flame sensor. Remove the sensor with a 1/4" nutdriver. clean the flame sensor with a small piece of fine grit sandpaper or emery cloth. replace the sensor and turn the furnace back on.
Good luck.....

I am just guessing but it may be set to low. The rush of air when it extinguishes could be blowing it out.

Good Luck,

Flame stays on after turning off fireplace

If the flame effect in your fireplace continues to stay on after turning it off, it could be due to a malfunctioning control board or a faulty switch. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the remote control: If you have a remote control for your fireplace, make sure that it is turned off and that the batteries are working properly. Sometimes a faulty remote control can cause the flame effect to remain on even when the fireplace is turned off.
  2. Check the switch: If your fireplace has a manual switch, check to see if it is in the off position. If it is not, try turning it off and see if the flame effect turns off.
  3. Check the control board: If the remote control and switch appear to be working correctly, the issue may be with the control board. In this case, it is best to contact a professional for repair or replacement.
  4. Unplug the fireplace: If all else fails, try unplugging the fireplace for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This may reset the controls and resolve the issue.
It's important to note that if your fireplace is gas-powered and the pilot light is still on after turning off the fireplace, you should contact a professional to inspect the unit as this could indicate a gas leak or other safety concern.

Direct-vent fireplace lights fine but after about five minutes it clicks and completely shuts off

You may need a new thermo couple, it sends an electric signal to fire the burner and if defective the burner won't light or stay lighted. Easy, cheap fix but you need the right one for your fireplace. Measure the length of the old one and any furnace supplier should have one. Put in the new one so it is in direct contact with the pilot light flame, push the pilot light lighter and hold until the pilot light stays lit. May take a few tries and hold on the lighter till it catches.

Magnavox television won't stay on

I know this is going to sound strange but I have something to check. If you have LED lights in your house turn them all off. When they are off turn on your TV and see if your TV stays on. Yes, there could be many problems but this one is cropping up quite a bit. If this does not work then you need to take a look at the power supply board.

Have a GTI Insert Replaced the thermo coupler . Now the pilot light stays lit but when the fireplace starts it will only go for about 30 seconds then you hear a click and shuts down pilot and all.

It sounds to me like you have a bad flame sensor.Luckily most of the time they are pretty easy to change. If you have your manual it will show you the physical location of flame sensor. Usually 1 or 2 screws holding it in place. Remove screws and unplug wires to remove sensor.Install new sensor and hopefully you're in business. Thank you.

Take the fan power switch apart and clean the 2 point contacts. Also clean the 4 male studs that the wires plug into. That should solve the problem.
