Is the head lifting as if it wants to come free or is it sat solid and refusing to move? If it isn't moving at all it is likely you've missed a stud. Some engines need you to remove both manifolds as some of the lower mount bolts can be in the cylinder block and the upper bolts in the cylinder head.
If the head is moving it could just be a 'sticky' head gasket. Sometimes engine oil and coolant can act like a glue if it gets into the gasket area especially if the head gasket has blown. Try this. Take a small pry bar and cover the tip with a rag to prevent scratching the face of the head and block. Working evenly all the way around the head gasket joint, every few centimetres GENTLY lever the the head upwards. If it is a sticky joint it will suddenly 'let go'.
I would suggest refitting 2 or 3 head bolts a few turns so they are loose. This will stop the head moving too much when it does come free.
There is a small lock in the chasis of the head. Move the head to right you can see a plastic on the head moving path. push it to backwards. Now you can move the head to left.
Most likely, you need to lubricate the shaft the head moves on and clean the positioning tape (carefully, the marks on it can be dissolved).
Unplug the printer while it's moving the head, so you can manually move the head around. Use light oil, such as used in sewing machines.
try turning off the printer and after that try to move the print head. See if it moves. If it doesn't you have to remove the case(it snaps on, there are little arrows on the bottom that show you where the clips are). After you remove the case there is a spring actioned thingy that parks itself right beneath the head, pull it an it should be easy after that.
Below the head where it attached to the center column is a set of three screws. Back them out a little bit and then tighten the head, then screw those three grub screws back in to lock the head.
Ink and paper light on : head carriage error/general error. Head can't move extremely to right : head carriage blocked or CR motor error.
Turn of printer, unlock head carriage lock. Move head left and back to right (to parking position). Is it move freely?
Have you carried out 2 or 3 head cleaning cycles? If not, do it. Is there ink on paper now after this cleaning? If so, but it is streaky, leave the printer for 24 hours and repeat the head cleaning. If not, you must soak the heads for at least 24 hours - use print head cleaning fluid or distilled water NOT TAP WATER. Proceed as follows:
Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head starts to move, pull the power lead out of the printer, or turn it off at the mains. The print head should now be free to move by hand. Move it out of the way to the left. On the right you should see the print head parking area. There is a rubber cup that is designed to fit under the print head to keep the ink from drying out. Using a syringe or dropper, fill this cup with print head cleaning fluid. Then gently move the print head as far as it will go to the right. The print nozzles are now bathed in print head cleaner. Leave it for at least 24 hours, then repeat the cleaning cycle process.
