Error 50 means that your Printhead drive belt has an error. My particulaproblem was that my belt was off. After refitting the problem was solved!

Unable to print 50

The MFC has a mechanical problem, or a foreign object, such as a clip or ripped paper, is in the MFC.
Turn off the MFC's power switch, and then on again. If the error message continues, leave the MFC for several minutes and try it again.

Error message on my Brother MFC-420CN

press menu then start bk copy then fourtimes arrow-up button. Machine will switch to maintaenance mode. You may have to press start bk-copy. The machine will display an error code.

Error code starting with 4 is always a defective print head which needs replacing (except error 46: new waist ink tank needed).

In case it is another error code plz post here again.

"Unable To Change" message. Tried all suggested fixes none work. Can you provide any additional help beyond the standard fixes. Nothing is jammed, turning it off for even days doesn't remove the error...

press menu then start bk copy then fourtimes arrow up. what error code does the machine display?

In case you have an error 50 you have to open the printer cover and to reinsert the encoder strip which is out of position into the ph. This occurs sometimes after a serious paper jam.

search error 50 for dcp 110, 115 or mfc 210 here. its the same procedure.

Printer message: Unable to Print

5A means that the purge cam stopps abnormally when it is in use. This could be of a broken cam shaft. You have to replace the whole purge unit. This is a service job to do!
