Yes you can. The default tone for text messages is pretty quiet to begin with, so first check the volume for your texts messages. Go to "Menu" > "Settings" > "Audio & Ringtones" > "Message Tone" > "Volume" and adjust it how you want it. If it's still pretty quiet, you might want to change the message tone altogether, which is the same process as above except go to "Sounds" instead of "Volume" and pick a louder one. I called LG and it needs a factory reconfigure so I will throw the phone away.

Go to Settings -> Profiles -> Then edit the normal profile, in there you can change ringtone and smstone ++

on the camera at the back, there is this round thing around it, when making a call switch it to one side or the other until it get louder

-you can also use this to scroll up and down in the menus and to zoom in when your taking a picture/video if you didnt know already

This phone does not come with 72 ringtones, rather it has 72 "chords" that can make up a polyphonic ringtone. Most polyphonic ringers can simulate the sound of various instruments, instead of just tones. I transferred music to my LG830, and I would like to make some songs caller IDs. I can't seem to find any of my music in the "my audio" folder, though it is in the music section.

you need to take your cellphone to the alltel store so they can update thats the only way to update.

with the phone closed, goto tools, voice commands....click on settings in the lower right.......scroll down to call alert.......change to ring only or caller id+ring....on the env that should solve your problem

VERY poor reception and battery goes flat in about 10 hours as looking for a signal. My wifes Nokia lasts a LOT longer and has much better reception
