It seems Canon A95 camera got ccd imager chip problem that is why you do not get live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures but camera shows old pictures in playback mode. Let me know if this diagnosis is correct to proceed further.
Are you using the cable attached to your camera or a card reader. Try the card reader and see if that helps. Could be your computer isn't recognizing the camera.
You may have accidently removed the photo programs you were using. Check to see if the software programs are indeed still on your computer by searching by name. If it or they are there , open one of the programs before you connect the camera and it should automatically download.
If they have been removed use the disc that came with your camera to reload the software program.
1.) Connect the broader end of the supplied USB Cable to PC and the smaller end into the usb port of camera. 2.) Switch the camera to photo viewing mode.
3) Power on the camera. 4)The PC will recognize your camera and it will popup mesage. 5) Go to MyComputer and double click it. 7) Double click the A95 canon icon which is displayed. 8) The photo files will appear . Copy them and paste in the required folder of your choice.
You can use microsoft scanner and camera wizard to download in the meantime. I'm not sure what is going on with your Zoombrowser software. Which Operating System are you running?
even the camera guys from whom I purchased my canon didn't realize this one; there's a small button on the top left of this camera they don't indicate for downloading pics; that's all! regards, dzed
I dont have a permanent fix for this but you can recover those precious pics.. When you can open it in photoshop just use file save as option to save them onto the computer.. Also when you are done with transferring all these pics then format the memory card(normal format not quick) then take some sample pcis and see if it skips again.. Postback so that we can followup on this..
Check on the CD software you received with your camera whether it support the Win Xp OS.
In case it doesn't support your OS, go to the Canon web site and download to your PC the relevant drivers for your camera and OS.
Good luck !
