I think you can placed in this mother board.

Just follow socket no, and you need AM2 socket supported processor,here speed not the factor.
For more details follow the bellow link please.When your processeor suport AM2 socket no problem.But don't buy Am3 socket supported processor.It will be wrote down on processor box.

Realtek AC 97 is the only driver for this board, did you install the 64 bit driver rather then the 32 bit driver?

have you tryed to look for download for the on board lan some times you have to do search for that go to google and type in the motherboard name but type in download for drivers for on board lan and then your motherborad name. sometimes thay send a cd with it for all the componits on the motherboard .

Your description indicates your power supply may be faulty or there is a break somewhere in the 24 pin main ATX cable wiring.
Swap out the power supply. Make sure your PSU has a 24 pin ATX connector & (not a 20) pin & a 4 pin ATX_12v connector for the CPU.

Make sure that it is enabled in the BIOS. Check VGA cord for bent pins.
