Big streaks on copies from Sharp SF-7800 copier, not fax machine.

Let me see if I got this right.

The received fax is clean but when you send one out it has a black streak on it.
Cool! So far so good.
Makes sense because for sending, the fax scans the original document and parts of the scanning area could be dirty and so on. Therefore a black streak may appear.
The same black streak would also appear when you make a copy, because the original document must also be scanned.
Logical!

However for receiving faxes, the machine uses the internal memory and the print engine only, and the same applies to printing the transaction report, which comes from inside via the print engine.
The scanner has no rol in either situation.

If everything is coming out with streaks, it's most likely your cleaning blade which is part of the drum cartridge. I've also seen this from 3rd party toner. Get Sharp toner for your Sharp fax if you don't have it already. If your black streaks are only on copies and sent faxes, this indicates that your scanner is dirty. It's located where you feed your paper in. Lift this part up and you'll see a strip of glass running front to back about 1/2 inch wide. Clean it and that will get rid of lines.

It is the drum.
Reasonable cost? That's up to you.
Call a few service depots and ask. Then decide if you want to invest the cash.

Sounds like a worn drum unit primarily the cleaning blade on the drum is failing. If you don't change it out soon the dirt escaping from the drum and dirty copies will foul-out you fixing unit, = more $$.

A6 is a scan error, you should try to make a copy and see what it looks like, if the scanner is bad there will be streaks or just black copy. the file will be too big to transmit if it's black or deformed.

OK I am guessing this is a Laser Fax or an Inkjet Fax- If it's a Laser Fax,chances are you may have a "BAD" drum and if this is a Ink jet most likely and "Leaky" cartridge.

take drum unit out, look on top and move plastic blue tab from 1 side to the other a few times. very important to make sure you replace the tab to the side it was originally on or you'll get a big, broad black band.

-Did you try to replace the Toner Cartridge? if not try to replace and installed properly.
or check the Toner Cartridge if installed properly.

That green bar is the drum unit. Black streaks are indication of bad drum. Replace drum unit. Don't wait too long or it will ruin the fusing section as well from excess toner build-up. Big bucks!
