Radio i went into radio and now it wont do anything i have to use the reset button to turn it off when i turn it on it shows the radio scanner then the back light goes off and wont do anything but show the time every min

To unlock your Radio Shack Pro-70 Scanner, you can try the following steps:

1. Turn off the scanner by pressing and holding the "Power" button until the scanner turns off.
2. Press and hold the "Func" button while turning on the scanner again. Keep holding the "Func" button until the scanner finishes its power-up routine and the display shows "Program."
3. Use the number buttons to enter the four-digit unlock code. If you don't know the unlock code, try entering "0000," which is the default code for many Radio Shack scanners.
4. Press "E" to confirm the code. If the code was entered correctly, the scanner should now be unlocked and you should be able to access all functions.

If the above steps do not work, try resetting the scanner to its factory defaults. To do this, turn off the scanner, then press and hold the "2," "9," and "MAN" buttons while turning on the scanner again. Keep holding the buttons until the scanner displays "Factory Test." Press the "Func" button to confirm the reset.
If none of these steps work, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the scanner and it may need to be serviced or replaced.

First try doing a reset first. If uou hold down 2,4,an 9 while turning it on it should reset. If not use 2 an 4. This works many times. Also have you tried connecting to the computer with it? I would try the factory rest first.

Turn the scanner off, then hold down the 2 , 9 and HWY (State) button....all three at the same time and then turn the scanner back on. This does a full reset to factory settings.

with radio off, press and hold 2, 9, & hold button, then turn on and hold all three for at least two seconds to reset.

With the scanner off, firmly hold down 2+9+State at the same time while turning the scanner on. (You may have do it several times) When you see (Clear)
its reset.

reset it one more time and let the scanner boot before you do any thing else chill out for while dont be so egor

turn off scanner hold down the state/highway the number 2 and 9 then while holding the 3 buttons turn your scanner back on while holding the state/highway, 2 and 9 buttons if you did everything correct you will see a clear message show up and about 2 seconds later hear a beep

First reset the scanner. This will not remove frequencies from memory. Turn the scanner off and then on again. Use a straightened our paper clip to gently push the "Reset" button on the side of the case (small hole). If that doesn't work, the next thing to do is to reinitilize the radio. This blows everything away so its the last resort. If you have the cable adapter and CD ROM for the radio, you may still be able to back up the scanner and reload after you do this. If not, be prepared to reprogram.

Turn the radio off and back on again. Hold down the "Tune/Clear button and again push the reset button. The display should clear. When the display returns, release the "Tune/Clear button

Now reprogram.

Sorry but no there is no reset button on any of those radioshack models try going back to the original spot that you had it connected to and see if it works if not then there are 2 thing it could be 1 the power supply went bad second is that when you unpluged it (guessing that you didn't turn off the scanner) that when you unpluged it you sent a surge through the pc board and poped a diode you can send it out to be checked and or repaired by radio shack at any of there locations can handle your needs

You need to Reset the display,
Turn off the Scanner, wait 10 seconds then turn it back on,
Now Insert a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, into the reset hole on the left side of the scanner above the PWR DC 9V jack.and hold it for 5 seconds.
The display should return to normal operation..
Note this will not erase the frequencies in the scanner it will reset the display processor.. Let me know how it goes.. :-)

When you first turn on the pro 95 and the dual trunking screen is still on insert (gently) a pin or straightened paper clip in the small hole just above and to the right of the external power plug. That will reset the radio. Once it is reset (wait until it finishes resetting) you may need to initialize it. Turn it off then back on, while it is still displaying the dual trunking screen press "0" and then the "1". Do not turn the radio off until the Initializing is finished.
Now re program your radio if you with to use the "SCAN" button. Other wise you should be able to use the "search" button to select the service you wish to listen to.
