How to turn wireless WiFi on/off Windows 7, 8, 8.1, & 10

This article describes how to turn the WiFi radio on or off. Follow the provided instructions to enable the wireless card.

Solution

• Unable to detect any wireless networks in range Window 7, 8 & 10.Window 8 & 8.1
  
  1. From the Windows Start Screen, search Turn wireless devices on or off.
  2. Enable or disable Airplane Mode to stop all wireless communication. Under Wireless Devices, choose whether to enable or disable WiFi and Bluetooth.
     
     
     
     If there is no Wi-Fi option present, see Unable to detect any wireless networks in range Window 7, 8 & 10.
  Windows 10
  
  1. Click the Windows button -> Settings -> Network & Internet.
  2. Slide WiFi On, then available networks will be listed. Click Connect. Disable/Enable WiFi.
     
     
     
     If there is no Wi-Fi option present, follow Unable to detect any wireless networks in range. Window 7, 8 & 10.

hello there is a key combo in windows u could try windows key and x to bring up windows mobilty center there is a connection tab for wireless there works with windows 7 but not windows 8 on

Try enableing wireless in bios, may overide switch. When first turn on hit a custom key or keys... common is f2 or del key.

3. Operating System (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP, VISTA, or Windows 7)

There is usually only 1 way to turn on wireless especially if it is switch. Maybe you can use a small screw driver and turn it on but be gentle since its very fragile. Sorry for bad new. Good luck.

There is several products that dont work with Windows 7 and if that is the case see below. you will have to find your model and make of the wireless card I am assuming that it is a built in card if it is go to the manufactures support website and download the driver for windows 7. If they do not have one you will have to buy a new wireless adapter to use with window 7. You can buy them at walmart or go to tigerdirect.com

First, turn the wireless switch OFF and switch it back ON
(make sure sure that there is a BLUE light on the wireless indicator)
then press Fn+F5 (this will ENABLE the wireless capability of your computer)

*Wireless capability will automatically be on as lon as you have a wireless adapater or a wireless card or a built in Wireless in your motherboard that is properly installed to your computer

*you can check if the wireless card is properly install go to start - control panel network and sharing center and @ the left part of the window try to check if you will find Manage Wireless Network if not then the driver is not installed

*the driver of the wireless adater usually can be downloaded on the manufacturers website :)

First try using the FUNCTION key combination "Fn" then F2

Next if this is not working then,go to my network places(To go to my network places:my computers left handside you wil get it) click it, then click on the option view network connections, then right handside click on wireless network connections, then right click and select properties, you wil get a window in that select wireless connection and check whether the first option is ticked or not.
