I am sure 100% your LCD Liquid Crystal Part has been bleeding and cracked due to free fall impact. Only thing you need to do is to replace the LCD. Please view the link below for detail of how to open the housing and replace the LCD. Since this is a Candy bar-like unit so it is easy to replace the lcd than a flip-style cell phone which is much tougher. Here is the links:

I lost my display on 30th april 2007 without a hint. Have been using the phone for nearly 1 1/2 years without any problem. The battery seems to be not so strong, shall try with the battery cleaning etc. Is this a standard problem with the MOTOROLLA V3?
