I have a harmonix wireless guitar and a wired drumset. Neither will respond, though they both show a blue light. I'm playing rockband 3 with rockband 1 instruments. Only the mic works and I have no idea why. Of course, I've tried new batteries in guitar, re-synced, powered on and off.. to no avail. Suggestions? Its a new in box set.
I would have checked the USB dongle that you are probably plugging into. There are many things you can check...
1.) usb dongle
2.) mic volume in the game.
3.) way you are using the mic
4.) for the new problem with no sound - make sure you have batteries in your instruments, they are plugged into/connected to the system (synched) and turned on. That you have a good connection from system to the stereo/tv audio.
The mic for the wii, goes into the usb port in the back of the wii, there is two usb ports on the back of your wii plug it into there and see if that works. Thanks
Hope this helps
Steven.
I dealt with Beatles Rockband Wii on 2 systems with 2 different configurations.
Wireless Drum kit configuration. The Drum USB Transmitter has 2 additional USB ports, that allow Guitar/mic to be connected, plus there is the remaining USB port on the Wii
Wired Drum kit comes with a 4 port USB hub, connect the hub to the Wii, and connect all instruments to the USB hub.
The Wii will only allow 4 controllers connected at once. So if you have multiple Wii Motes, then you may have to disconnect all but the one used for the Mic player (Press 1 on the Wii mote to unsync or remove the batteries)
For me it was the white box that connects to the back of the wii. I tried everything from changing batteries in the guitar, to pressing white button on guitar, to restarting while holding white button down to screaming at the wii. Then I bought a new rockband guitar at best buy and the new guitar did not work until I swapped the white box (dongle?) that connects to the back of the Wii. One is for the drums and the other is for the guitars and mic. Hope this helps.
in the back of your wii are 2 usb connections. If you bought rockband and want to use the extention for the usb you plug the extention in the usb port and then plug the mic in the extention. The usb ports are twords the top left hand corner on the back of your wii. Enjoy singing!
