My Duo Therm furnace was working last night and not this morning

My duo therm furnace is in a 1986 Impa travel trailer and has a converter box. It was working last night but it didn't come on this morning,so I turned up the thermostat and nothing happened so I cut the thermostat off and back on I can hear a click in the thermostat and down by the furnace but nothing happens. No blower,no pilot light and no smell of gas which is good. Its not the gas because my stove is working, also the heater is below the stove. My son and I were sitting here with the thermostat on hoping it would start and all of a sudden we heard a loud crack like something broke and it sounded like it was something on the counter but I couldn't find anything so I am thinking it was something in the heater. I have not took the heater apart yet is there anyone who has a diagram of this heater and its parts or can tell me anything I am on a fixed income and really cant afford to have a specialist come out and look at it.

I would make sure there is power to the unit before I attempted any repairs. Gas being available will not allow the thermostat or gas valve to operate if there's no power to them

SOURCE: Duo Therm AC won't cut off with thermostat

Hi, sounds to me like the thermostat is at fault. You have done nothing wrong to it but cover it up. The t-stat is what controls it, turns it on and off. The only other thing that would keep it on all the time would be that the thermostat wiring could be touching together from the stat up to the unit. You might check that before replacing stat. I have seen this many times. You can start the unit and go up top and disconnect the stat wire and it should stop the unit. Then its either the wire or stat.Let me know what you find,
Sincerely,Shastalaker7

1988 mallard sprinter travel trailer electric heat, how do I use it

To use the electric heat on your 1988 Mallard Sprinter travel trailer, you will need to follow the instructions for your specific Duo Therm Brisk Air unit. Here are the general steps you can follow to use the electric heat:
  1. Set the thermostat: Set the thermostat to the desired temperature. The thermostat controls the electric heat and determines when it will turn on and off.
  2. Turn on the electric heat: The electric heat on your travel trailer is usually controlled by a switch or a button on the thermostat or on the unit itself. Turn on the electric heat by flipping the switch or pressing the button.
  3. Adjust the temperature: Use the thermostat to adjust the temperature as needed. The electric heat will turn on and off as needed to maintain the desired temperature.
  4. Turn off the electric heat: When you are finished using the electric heat, turn it off by flipping the switch or pressing the button.
If you are having difficulty using the electric heat or are unsure about how to operate your specific Duo Therm Brisk Air unit, you may want to refer to the owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance. They will be able to provide you with specific instructions for your unit and help you troubleshoot any issues you may be experiencing.
