I had the same problem, and after two days of searching, I found you. Thanks a million. I bought a 36" tv from someone, and it was without remote. I had an RCE723 old one, from the other smaller tv. My room-mated didn't even try to reprogram, just went out and bought a new one.

I got mad, sent them both to their room (one is 51 male, the other 61 male) and said I will take care of this. I found you. It worked first try, and I told my other room-mates to take back their NEW universal one they bought, since they can't read the internet. Have a wonderful day.

Answer for how to program the RCA RCR3273 3-DEVICE SNOWBOARD UNIVERSAL REMOTE:
Make sure the device is on. Hold down the tv (or whichever device you're trying to program) button and the power button simultaneously until the red light stays on solid. Then press the power button, it will flash one time, and keep pressing slowly, letting it flash until the device turns off. Then press the stop button...and it is programmed.

Here's a minor edit of what I [Adult Swim] originally posted as a solution to this problem...

Make sure the device [meaning the television, vcr, etc.] is on. Hold down the tv (or whichever device you're trying to program --- VERY MPORTANT: hold the device button down first} button and the power button simultaneously until the red light stays on solid. Then press the power button, it will flash one time, and then keep on pressing slowly, letting it flash until the device turns off. As soon as the device {tv, vcr, etc.} turns off, then press the stop {the button with a small square printed on it, right beloew the play button which has a right-pointing triangle printed on it} button ... and the remote is programmed for that particular device. If you want to program additional devices, just repeat the instructions above, but for the other device(s).

Yet another edit [because of typos] of what I originally posted as a solution to this problem...

Make sure that the device [meaning the television, vcr, etc.] is on. Hold down the tv (or whichever device you're trying to program --- VERY IMPORTANT: hold the device button down first) button and the power button simultaneously until the red light stays on solid. Then press the power button, it will flash one time, and then keep on pressing slowly, letting it flash until the device turns off. As soon as the device {tv, vcr, etc.} turns off, then press the stop {the button with a small square printed on it, right below the play button which has a right-pointing triangle printed on it} button ... and the remote is programmed for that particular device. If you want to program additional devices, just repeat the instructions above, but for the other device(s).

This will work for this particular remote, with nearly all modern a/v appliances, however, it won't work with some older devices manufactured prior to maybe around 1990, and of course, it's possible that it might not work with some newer televisions, cable boxes, dvd players, etc. Be patient when cycling through the code list [pressing the power button again and again], because I think there may actually be several hundred codes in the remote! Hope it works for you.

Also, thanks for all of the nice comments. I was having a really bad day when my remote somehow got deprogrammed, and like many folks, I had misplaced or perhaps thrown out altogether, my instruction booklet. So, because I didn't have an internet connection at the time, I stumbled a full two miles to the public library, where I used a public internet terminal to search, literally for a full hour before I found the answer somewhere buried deep within a tech-geek remote fansite. The RCA site was of no help at all, which is shameful. Convinced that I had found what I needed, I returned home, and was happy that it worked. Take care, everybody, because I know how frustrating a non-working remote can be. And that's my story. Heh.

Here are remote codes and instructions. RCA is too lazy or incompetent to post the codes for this remote on their website.

RCA remote control have no set-up code for this TV brand. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.

Needs codes rca remote

I'm not sure which remote and device you have. The header says a GE remote and the text says RCA remote. I'll provide locations for both types of remotes.

Try the following web site: http://remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=rca for RCA universal remotes. Enter the model of the remote as well as the brand and type of device to be controlled.

GE Universal remotes use either a three or four digit code. Find the code lists here: http://www.jascoproducts.com/support/universal-remote-codes.asp . Then determine if you have #24912 remote or which of the remote code lists that applies to your remote.

The code lists for any given remote will be limited to codes for devices released 6 months or more before the universal remote was programmed. If your device is newer than that date, the codes may not work.

I hope this helps.
