Our maytag performa overflowed and flooded our downstairs. It didn't stop until we turned off the water at the wall. We were told it was probably our water valve.

Cooling system

Raise the car front end as high as possible with a floor jack, fill the coolant tank to the top, run the engine until it reaches just short of overheating, shut it down and run water over the radiator, this will burp the air out. Repeat as needed. Don't let the coolant recovery tank run dry during procedure.

Model# 92281800 water fails to shut off when filling everything else works fine.

Hello,

Their are 2 possibilites causing it to overflow

1) the water inlet valve that the hoses from the house plumbing attach to is sticking open, when it sticks it will stick open regardless if thier is power to the machine or not,so to determine if that is the problem, start the washer and quickly unplug it,if the water continues to fill, that valve is sticking

2) the water level switch is defective,do the same as far as starting it,if the fill stops when power disconected it's the water level switch that is in need of replacement

Good luck, i hope this helps.

I have a hotpoint ulitma wt741. my machine seems to overflow the water just filled the drum. i had to turn off the mini blue valve for cold water to stop the water overflowing. how can i fix this ?

To avoid confusion i`ll give you the senerios.Your washing machine was NOT in use and somehow it just fills with water over the day ,slowly filling up and never stops-this is the inlet valve u/s and water seeps, drip drip until the machine leaks-replace valve only answer.Or ,the machine is in use and water doesn`t stop filling up either on wash or rinses-can be valve not shutting off because valve is faulty, similar to above, this is rare but not unknown,or much more likely the air trap/filter is blocked up which is not telling the pressure switch to cut the power to the valve with the correct amount of water.IF the filter/air trap-a rubber hose with a large hose clip and a white looking chamber sprouting from the hoses r/h/side- is at the rear of the machine(to the right of the motor looking from the rear of the machine) this is where you should look first ,if your filter is at the front (r/h/s) i don`t know the answer to this part of the question.

Kenmore series 80 washing machine overfills, it will not start washing, it just fills and runs over

Hi, The first part to check is the inlet valve. If you shut the washer off, will the water stop? If the water continues when the power is off to the washer, change the inlet/mixer valve.
If the water stops filling when the power to thee washer is shut off, the water level switch needs checked.
Please let em know if either of these help so I can assist you further.

Washer continues to fill after full, then spills all over floor until manual shut off

This is an indication of a pressure switch malfunction. Post back with your washer brand name and model number and I can tell you how to check it.
