Question about Canon P23-DH Calculator

Won't print/feed If I set the calculator to print, it tries to feed but just spins and the "E" shows up in the lower left hand corner of the display. I have tried to reset the calculator, but that doesn't seem to work. I can press the CE button and it will only spin the feeder and then automatically displays the "E" again and will not allow me to do any calculations. If I take it off of print and just to the ON setting, then it is fine and allows me to do calculations. Any suggestions before I throw it in the garbage?

Here it is 9 yrs. later and having the same problem as in 2007. You'd think by now they'd have perfected it! How do you reset the calculator? Cannot take it off "Print". Batteries not the problem. "E" remains and device is locked.

Try removing the batteries in addition to reseting the calculator.

our calculator is beyond repair. You can use it in no print mode ohly. The printer is not working, causing the error code.

Turn it off and back on and only use the display mode.

When I push the feed button, an E shows up in the left hand corner of the display.

The E is an indicator that the Paper Spool is EMPTY so either the paper sensor is defective or You have forgotten about a "bar" that the Paper must go through to be sensed. Or Your Feed motor has fed it's last. Best of Luck!

probably you need to feed the paper first, then plug it in.... try to read manual and check what E means in error messages.....

You have entered something that takes more numbers than the calculator can handle...hit the clear key (C) I think...or turn it off and then on again.

You feed it from the back,(you will see an horizontal line) you're paper has to be straight cut, than you press the arrow on the left corner until you see it on the front.

You're seeing an exponent, the power of ten.
To have the calculator not display this (unless the number won't fit into the display otherwise), press MODE repeatedly until the screen shows "Fix Sci Norm". Press 3 to select Norm.

Make sure on the Page Setup tab that the Page Layout says 'Normal-size' and not 'Poster' (poster tries to place four documents on a single printed sheet). If this is not the problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver.

Hello,

When you turn the calculator on, its screen is cleared, save for a small square on the top left corner. This is the cursor and it is blinking: The calculator is waiting for you to order it to perform some calculation.

Try this simple operation
[1] [+] [1] [ENTER]. The calculator will display the result one line down justified to the right.
