Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

2 red light keep blinkig

Dear friends,

I just purchased (only yesterday) an Epson Stylus r270, and I loaded a remote continuous device to feed ink.

The R270, was started to print really OK, with a very good standard,  since some photos was appearing not much clear.

So I decided to use the printer functions to clean the nozzle and the print head.

In addition with an absorbent paper, manually I tried to dry from the ink, the black sponge below the head.

I did this operation with the print OFF, but when I made ON, the head went quick against the right side of the printer with a strong noise and the two red light, paper and ink, started to blinking rapidly.

I try to follow the instruction of the Adjustment Program, downloaded from the net, and following the suggestions, to open the right side of the printer to empty the waste (the thank was empty, not one drop of ink was coming out) , the red light  was keeping on.

When the red light are on, the green one is off, but the light inside in the left side of the print is on.

With the Adjustment Program, I obtained all the time: ?FATAL ERROR CODE  0 x 50?

And ?CANNOT SEEK CR HOME POSITION?

I would like very pleased if you can help me.

Thanking you in advance,

Kindest Regards

Daniel

    red lights keep flashing

  • Anonymous Jun 16, 2008

REplaced black cart. (K) with a generic & it slammed over to the right. It was not seated properly & the only way to get to cartridgeload position was to AC Power=OFF when the Reset cycle slid the carts. in the postition.

After reseating cart. & Power=ON/ ReSet, the printhead/carts.now go to the far LEFT. Error indicated & it won't go to Load. Any Ideas? other than sending it in for repair... I appreciate any help.

SOURCE: Can't change ink cart. EPSON STYLUS CX 4600

I may have tripped across a solution to the ink carrier that doesn't want to behave.

I turned the printer off. Then, while holding down the Ink button, I also pressed and held the On button- and kept holding them. Somewhere in documentation I read that this would kick off some process, but I didn't remember what. It didn't turn on right away, but after 4 or 5 seconds of holding the buttons down, started up, went through some motions, and lo and behold, it landed on the spot showing me my cyan cartridge was out. Pressed it again, and it went to the cartridge change position.

I had to think about it, because I was now faced with breaking open a cartridge package worth $35 that could go towards the price of a new printer, and the printer still may not work, but I went boldly forward and it seems to be working fine.

SOURCE: Epson Stylus Photo R800 Print Head Nozzles ??

Don't use nozzles clean function, besides ink consuming it can cause damages that cannot be fixed: black lines on the back side of the page that will be permanent. Instead put two photo paper together (2x260 gr) and push the two papers together into the printer while printing a motive including many colors. Do so a couple of times and the clogg usually disappears. Good luck! jonk

Epson r265 what does 2 red lights flashing slowley mean

It means that the ink counter needs resetting and the waste inkpad changing/cleaned. The Epson website will give you the address of a local service centre. Before paying out for that you could see if the SSC Service Utility would work for you although the R265 is not specifically listed as supported it is similar to the R270 which is. The free download is available here http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

Not works

You can reset the waste ink counter using
http://tricks-collections.com/2008/09/resetter-epson-c58-c67-c79-c90-r270-r390-rx650-cx3900/

The generic SSC utility is also available at
http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

However, remember ink is still accumulating in the waste ink reservoir and will eventually start to leak out. To replace the waste ink pads you need to disassemble the printer.

A free copy of the service manual is available at

Accidently flashed firmware to r270

at the moment it appears you cant write the eeprom from an r265 using the r265 and r270 adjustment tool.

i have managed to get hold of the r265 eeprom from a printer at work but unfortunately you cannot write it back to the incorrectly flashed printer.

oh well never mind :(

Paper jam

First, check the entire paper path for anything that would impede paper movement: a small piece of paper, staple, or even a broken piece of plastic from inside the printer itself. The rollers may have become either "slick" due to much use, or they can get covered with dust/paper dust. Cleaning them can help. I'm told rubbing alcohol tends to deteriorate them- perhaps using a diluted window cleaner. There are products sold for this- maybe do a google search on what to use.
