The dreg box was too full. I was able to remove it and empty it. The machine mechanism is in the way and I am unable to get the dreg box back in the proper position. I am unable to reset the machine so that the mechanism will move to its neutral position.

the machine is counting how many coffee is made, and then it's showing that dreg drawer is full. If you empty it before the machine showing that's full -machine don't know that you are empty it.Now you have to remove dreg drawer for 10 seconds and then put it back!
The coffee grind could be too fine and or not enough coffee is being added to the brew chamber after the machine grinds it. You can try to adjust the amount of coffee being used for an espresso and or adjust the grind.
When you go to empty the dredge drawer you must leave the machine on. When you remove the dredge drawer it will say dredge drawer missing. Leave it out at least 15 seconds so the machine knows you are empting it. When you insert it again the machine will count about 24 cycles and tell you to empty it again. Its a counter.
First clean the screen and tube on the brew unit, then lube the guides/gear grooves on the brew unit, also lube the o-ring(big red one). Then that should take care of it. You can also try backwashing/degreasing the brew unit if the machine has a preground chute.
Hi Dredge drawer is the big box on the bottom right. That is where the grounds are dumped. Remove the drip tray and pull the drawer out about half way. Push it back in with 1 finger on the right side of the drawer. That should clear the message. If it comes back on when you put in the drip tray, there is a section of the drip tray that can be removed to stop that. On the right side of the drip tray is a notch. Inside that notch is a thin piece of plastic. It curls up on the right side. Cut out the piece that curls up (just the piece that curls, about an inch). When you push in the drip tray that curl lifts the dredge drawer and knocks it out of position. When you want to empty the grounds because it says to in the menu, REMEMBER TO LEAVE THE MACHINE ON when you remove the drawer. The machine is a counter and when it reaches the magic number for that machine the message comes on. If the machine is turned off when you pull the drawer out, the machine doesn’t know this and the message will be there when you turn the machine back on. Also remember to leave the drawer out for at least 15 seconds or a little longer so the machine thinks you actually dumped the grounds
Check the edge of the container that goes in to the machine there is a small part that sticks out, it is possible that that piece is not touching the microswitch in the machine. Remove the drain tray and the dregs tray, check the corners of the machine for loose coffee grounds.
the thing that dropped out was part of the micro switch for the dregs draw. Yes you can use the machine with the piece that you put in there, at some time you might consider just replacing the micro switch.
drain machine, turn off power , get vacuum cleaner nozzle into drawer slot (make sure its dry or u'll have to post a repair for vacuum cleaner repair) remove all deposits for chamber , shake and bang machine to lossen deposits. if drawer has metal clips or something that looks like sensors (does not have to have wires attached to be a sensor) clean !
