Question about Mitsubishi VS-55705 55" Rear Projection Television
I don't have the model number with me. We purchased the set in January 2001.
The picture is intermittently, but with increasing frequency looking like this:
Is this something that can usually be repaired at a reasonable cost? Above $1,000, we might just buy new set.
If You cant adjust the convergence through the convergence menu. Chances are its your convergence ICs. Some mitsubishi set are famous for having bad solder joints on the ICs. I would check that out first, but be careful there is always a risk of getting shocked if your not famillar with TV diagnosis and repair, even after the plug has been pulled. If you feel comfortable checking the solder joints. you'll be looking for huge ICs attached to huge heat sinks with 18 pins. There are two seperate ICs
