Ihave a samsung split ac 1.5 T 18UA appx 3 months old . It stinks whenever now i switch it on.The smell is very bad and almost untolerable.I have checked the manual and cleaned the air filter. It has no BIO -FILTER fitted. The foul smell is coming from the ac internal unit when it is throwing cool air inside. Pl help.

If it has 5 year warranty Samsung should repair it.

Make sure all of the pressure switches are closed on the low voltage control circuit on the outdoor unit. If any are stuck open, the compressor will not kick on. Or just push the compressor contactor in with an insulated screwdriver to ensure the compressor does actually work.

Solution: Remove power. And also empty your fridge. Now with little soap watered cloth(wet) clean indoor compartments all. And Within 5 minutes clean with dry cloth. Keep open the door on sun shine. or in heat room. After 4 to 6 hrs, reuse it. No smell will be there. It's advisable to do this type of cleaning once in 3 months at least. Helpful?

no drain, but if you put a cup of bleach in run for 45-60 min every month you won't have the smell anymore. after washing leave the door 1/4 open this will help keep mildew away.

I would say control board. Get on Samsung web site and go to technical support and get there 800 number. I have called several times and they can walk you thru it. Get the cores cleaned and be sure that the drain is clear and flowing.

One thing to do is turn off AC and still blow air through it, on high, for 2 or 3 minutes at shutdown. What you are trying to do is dry the evaporator of condensation. MUCH less smell on next power on of AC.

It is very possible the a/c / heater system could have a mouse that died inside the unit. smells very very bad.just one possibilty. I have see this several times.

I have the same problem with a 3 month old ge front loading washer.after 1 month it started off smelling musty..I thought it was my imagination, now at 3 months old our clothes smell so bad I think we might just have to buy new clothes! everytime I wash a load the clothes smell worse and now you can even smell it just walking into our closet 2 floors up. A new washing washing machine should NOT be doing this! so far leaving the door open in between washes has helped a little but I plan on tipping it back and finding the hidden filter today. Isn't it lovely that they don't mention a filter that needs monthly cleaning or it's location in the manuals?!
