Toshiba laptop with the Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN minc card pci and even though the laptop is in range of the acess point, it says that it can't find a signal, it's enabled and I've reinstalled the driver, done everything but throw the laptop out the window. Does anyone have any ideas. By the way my other computer can connect with no problem.

Fantastic! the blue screen of death was plaguing me!! Fixed it in a jiffy. It was an old driver that was just hanging up my machine. I had a Compaq Presario X1010us, running Windows XP Pro. Thanks for the simple instructions. I searched for over 2 hours for this and ended up nowhere until this.

SOURCE: Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN 3b mini card PCI adapter

I had this same problem this weekend. This is a 802.11 B card. It can use WEP and WPA for network security/encryption. You can find the driver here -> http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67214

Once you download the file run it and install. Your wireless card will then work.

Note: This adapter will not support WPA2 type network encryption. It will only run at speeds up to 11Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. Make sure you have set you router to support this older format.

Panasonic cf-50 problems to connect wireless wpa personal

If the wireless card is an old model it possibly won't support WAP encryption. The wireless router most likely supports both WEP and WAP encryption.
WEP is not as secure as WAP so use the highest bit encryption that is available to you.

HP Pavilion DV1000 drivers...

I found the problem to be a rather simple but frustrating one....when is an HP dv1000 not a dv1000....almost always!! You cannot get the correct downloads based on the model number on the tag. You must specify the PRODUCT NUMBER on the HP download site from the tag, not model. You can enter the general DV1000 and get to the download page and look for the entry "Not your Product?!" Follow that link and enter the PN from the tag....download those and you will get drivers that work with your unit. My "DV1000" was actually a DV1660!!!!

Code 10 error

I've come across this before in some laptops, the manufacturers stupidly, dissable the wireless card in the bios as default, so if you know how to get in there, it needs to be enabled. Only other thing a code 10 means is the hardware is faulty, but if it was ok before, should be ok now.
