I don't know what a level 1 router is, but try hooking directly to your modem with the lan line that goes to your router, if you get a connection there, reconnect your router to your modem and then connect a line to one of the outputs from your router. If you get nothing out of it, then your router is probably fried

Worked fine up till yesterday now wireless wont work

The wireless cards in the computers need to be configured with the router's wireless settings so the computers can connect to the wireless router.
Resetting the wireless router back to the factory defaults will not let the computers connect to the wireless router without configuring the network card in the computers with the router's wireless settings.
I suggest you configure your wireless router with encryption settings to prevent unauthorized persons accessing your wireless network and Internet connection and your computers.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Wireless Router suddenly stopped working.

Try resetting the Linksys back to the factory defaults and configure it again.
Power up the router and press the pinhole RESET button on the back of the router for 30 sec
Connect a LAN cable to the wireless router and open a browser and enter to router's configuration IP address and configure the wireless settings, remove the LAN cable when configuration is completed.
You need to configure then wireless card in the computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings.

We've had a laptop connected to our d-link wireless router for the last few weeks with no problem. Yesterday we lost the laptop internet connection. When we go to diagnose the problem, it shows that the...

Try resetting your wireless router first, then make sure that the network you are connecting to is yours and not another nearby wireless signal (I live in an area that's polluted with wireless signals and sometimes a neighbor's signal will be stronger than mine, so it will try to connect to theirs). If that doesn't work then go to your Network and Sharing Center and choose the setup a network connection option. You'll have to manually enter your info again but it should work fine.

No connectivity to 2nd desktop or laptop - although worked before

Hello....sudden loss of wireless on two computers, in the same home, may indicate that a powerful source of wireless interference has just arrived (since your wireless router light is still on).

1) Does the signal improve if you move the router, or move the laptop closer to the router?
2) Have you had any success with changing the channel on your router? (Login to router > select Wireless Settings > Channel)

If you have not moved furniture yourself, or installed a device which could interfere with the signal (eg a DECT phone), it's possible a neighbour's new router may be the culprit.

Please come back to Fixya if this does not help.

Laptop connected to WiFi yesterday but now cannot

try rolling back to the previous driver and also uninstalling and reinstalling the last driver update try this last in safe mode (try one thing at a time and test)

check if there's a firmware update for your wireless lynksys router.
although you got an odd problem... because you're mom laptop is fine so it's gotta be on your computer... mmmm.. still worth a try i think.

good luck!! post your findings for follow up!!

Laptop not seeing my wireless router

Try to manually "Add device to network" by using the wireless setup wizard. Check to see if the Wireless Zero Configuration service is "Running" before trying to add device. Yuo may also want to disable IPv6 in vista tcp/ip properties page.

Router issues?

If you haven't made any changes and suddenly your wireless connection has stopped working than these are the signs that your router is offline.
Now first of all check that on your router have you got the dsl or the internet light solid if it's not solid then it could be a problem with your broadband line...check with your isp whether the signals are there on the line or not.

1) Do a complete power cycle of your router unplug all cables from your router replug them then check....

if still you are not able to open up any pages on ie...then reset your router to default settings...
in order to reset your router at the back of your router you will find a small hole that is the reset hole press the pin in that hole for 10secs that will reset your router....restart both of your comps....
Now, if you are using windows xp then
click start>control panel>in control panel click on switch to classic view>after that click on network connections>
in network connections you'll find wireless network connections....right click on wireless networks..
then click view wireless networks you'll get an option of belkin wireless network..select it and press connect....
once it says connected close all the screens and run the router installation disc that you got with your router .....you will be able to connect..

Wireless connection works and then disconnects itself

look for a program on the web called Net Stumbler
It should be here http://www.stumbler.net/
That will show the signal level from your router.
I have seen this before and it could be several different problems
1. Someone else on your channel
2. Burned out ant or output section in the router
3. Broken Ant wire in laptop

Hope this helps
