Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I found a power cable for my Canon MP780 at the goodwill store for $1. Yes, $1. That is a cheap fix. As long as the power cable that you need is a figure eight on the end of it.

The connections are fairly generic and most electronic stores have them. Even the hardware store will have them. Take a photo of the inlet port on the printer with a digital camera or you camera phone if you have one. Even trace it with paper and pencil. Run down to the store and buy one. Any length will do and you'll be back in operation in no time.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:
1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.
2. Re-brick your printer.
Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the
back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers
and Faxes.
3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
4. Reboot your pc.
5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.
6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
A
quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the
printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your
computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source
to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try
to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

I have lost the power cord for my HP DeskJet D1455. HP does not have it and directed me towards an office supply or electronics store. Circuit City, nor Office Depot carry it. I just want to click on a link and buy it on line. The printer has a weird looking connection.
Thanks.
