Nwa 3000 I was using my mp3 player yesterday when it started to bleep and then switched off, however the lights on the controls still remain on and will not switch off and the screen is blank -- can anyone please help
I have the exact same problem. When I took my mp3 player out of my jacket pocket, the lights of the controls were on and they simply wouldn't go off and I couldn't get the player to work.
I was away for a couple of days, the lights have gone off but I still can't make the player work..
When I plug it to my computer or to the adapter the player doesn't react.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You
need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or
download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player
using the supplied USB cable when you connect the MP3 player to the
computer.
Yeah, of course it is possible, but the only thing is that you've got to be very careful. Usually on mp3 players, the back is usually where the battery is. So I suggest you use something like a flat screw driver to gently open the clips.
You need to plug the Mp3 player into the computer and bleep delete the whole system off of itself start over. I found an ipod on the ground infected with a virus and I got complete control after doing this. Trust me you can do it.
The little disc on the back needs to be taken off. Try slding a knife under it. Then the battery is just a simple connection. Should be simple once the back cover is off
Reset Update Firmware Double-check with Sony Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware. Wizard. If fails, then the player is officially dead

I waited until the lights went out as well- took a day or so , and then recharged the unit and it has been ok since
