Here is the link to Lenovo (IBM) put in your laptop information and follow it to the downloads and drivers page. and download the Highrate Wireless Lan. (you may also want to download the firmware update) The Highrate Wireless Lan is 1awc32ww.exe downlaod save to desktop and install it. if the wireless works you should see it come up after the install.

Hi,

The basic T23 may or may not have a built-in integrated 802.11b wireless depending on the model version.  You can verify in your Device Manager under Networking Adapters. The reason for different versions of the same model is some versions were intended for different regions/countries and different combinations of:

  • Mini-PCI V.90 56K modem
  • 10/100 Ethernet LAN connection
  • 802.11b wireless LAN
  • Secure Chip for authentication and encryption of data communications
This model also comes in 866MHz, 1.0GHz, 1.13GHz,  or 1.2GHz CPU speed. Likewise with the hard disk > 15, 20, 30, 48 or 60GB  hard disk drive and 30GB for selected Korean systems. And further with different Operating System > Windows 98SE, Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro.

So as you can see, the only sure way is to check in your Device Manager what you actually have.  Thereafter if you are missing any drivers go to the lenovo/ibm site and download appropriate drivers.  Most drivers are OS specific.

Good luck and kind regards.

I have a ibm t23 think pad that is not allowing the wireless adapter to connect to the wireless network

click start and go to control panel then select device manager. Click on the arrow or plus sign beside network adapter and select the wireless device driver. Right click on it and select uninstall and restart your computer after. After it restarts, your computer will automatically reinstall the driver you deleted.

If it doesn't work, download the driver update from the ibm website: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-57669. Just make sure you're downloading the driver for WLAN that's compatible with your operating system. You may also have to update your firmware.

Thinkpad T23

I believe the T23 has a built in wireless slot located on the bottom under a panel. If so, you will need to purchase an internal wireless card and download the drivers for it. You can usually get a good deal on one at Ebay. Or, you can go to Walmart and buy a universal wireless card that slides into the bus port or usb port, depending on the card. Walmart sells universal wireless cards for anywhere from $25 to $125, depending on what you want. I suggest the $30 to $40 range, they will work fine for you.
