Problem is on my PC, not Kindle Fire HD.

I lost the sound on my computer once and someone told me to go to my sound device ( which is RealTek) in device manager. I right clicked on it and clicked "disable". Then right clicked on it again and clicked "enable". For some strange reason this worked for me. Sometimes adding or downloading something can cause a glitch. Also, have you tried restoring your computer to an earlier date when your sound was working? That is, "System Restore" in Control Panel.

The router change shouldn't have any affect on your sound or your speakers. You need to start checking things out. Is sound accidentally shut off at the speakers?? Have speakers came unplugged at back of computer?? Has the sound been mistakenly shut off at the keyboard?

I recently installed the amazon alexa app on my kindle fire and then it connected all my other devices. It was working until I installed a new router today. Now I can not seem to connect. Help

You likely need to reset the wi-fi connection for Alexa so that ti connects to the new router. Make sure that the IP addresses are the same from the old router to the new one. Some use a host number of 192.168.1.1 and others use 192.168.0.1. And of course, if you changed that, you need to match Alexa to the new IP range. Plus verify that the SSID and access password are the same on the new router as you used on the old one.

How do I fix my tablet to connect to the internet/google?

Delete and reinstall app, restart tablet, Do you have any vpn installed, what about firewall? turn all that off and see if that fix the problem? It may be that router have firewall and is limiting you.

If that doesn't help, put tablet to factory settings, if you are not sure about router reset that to, as it may be collaborate joke (it wouldn't be the first time).

How do i restore my laptops and tablets to factory settings?

Make sure you are connected to the Internet so you can download the latest copy of Mac OS X.
  1. Use an app like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your internal hard drive to an external drive. This enables you to access all your old files, and the drive can be re-cloned to the internal drive if you want to restore your Mac.
  2. Deauthorize your iTunes store account. (You should also deauthorize any third-party apps, such as Photoshop, that are locked to your Mac).
  3. Turn off FileVault (if you are using it).
  4. Sign out of iCloud.
  5. Restart the Mac in Recovery Mode (hold down Command and the R key during restart).
  6. Use Disk Utility to erase the hard drive. Click on Disk Utility > Continue. Select the main volume and click Unmount then Erase). Quit Disk Utility (Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility).
  7. Click Reinstall OS X and Continue. Follow the instructions to reinstall Mac OS X.

Kindle fire will not connect to wi-fi which it has before and other products connect with no problem.

1 Reset your wifi Router;
2 FORGET your router details on your Fire and then rescan to find it again, reconnect.

It's possible that a neighbour has a new router, tv, telephone, bluetooth device and it's causing interfearance on your wifi settings. If the above simple fix does not sort things out you may want to go into the router and change you channel to a fixed service on channel 3-9 rather tahn AUTO.

Good luck

I just purchased a Nook eBook and I need my WiFi password to make it work. How can I create and reset a new password?

I assume you already have WiFi, if you don't, I suggest going out to wal-mart and buying a cheap wireless router to get you started. Then the instructions should explain how to get the password set up.
If you already have WiFi and the problem is that you forgot your password, then this should be able to be fixed easily if you know or have not changed the password for your WiFi router. Below is a set of steps to resolve the issue. The only requirement is a computer connected to the same router via WiFi or Ethernet.
1. Open Command Prompt (in windows) or open Terminal (in Mac OSX) 2. In the command line, enter "ipconfig" and press enter. 3. Look for Default Gateway and remember the corresponding IP Address. (Format: ###.###.###.###) It might look like 192.168.2.1 but not necessarily. 4. Remember that IP Address (write it down, copy it, do something). 5. Open your favorite web browser and enter that IP Address into the URL box. 6. This should ask you login, if it doesn't, skip step 7. 7. use the username that you set up the router with, or if you didn't change it, try using "admin" as the username and "admin" as the password. Try not using a password. If you still can't figure it out, use google to try and find the default password for your brand of router. 8. Once logged in, you can restore factory settings, or change your WiFi Password.

Having more information would have been helpful. (Aka - Router Brand, Is it your router, are any computers connected to it) Hope this was helpful.

Cannot connect my router to get wireless for my ipad2. I have a d link 624. How do I reset it?

Hey,
I believe there should be a tiny reset button in the back, which you'll have to press for 15 seconds using a paper clip. This will reset the ENTIRE configuration of the network, so it will reset with the DEFAULT username and password, which you might have to call D-Link if you don't have the information.
There's more information on that over here: http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp/fiosinternet/networking/troubleshooting/questionsone/86195.htm
Just a note: it might not necessarily be the router's fault because I've heard that many people had problems with their iPad's wireless network after they updated to the newest firmware, which is 4.3.3. So, if you don't want to do mess around with your router, you can either wait for a new software update, or downgrade it, if you have the necessary files.
Good luck, -virjog

Hi i have a gateway laptop, im having a hard time fixing the speakers,it started wen i tried to use my speakers for my ipod.when i took the cord of my ipod out of my laptop, the laptops speakers arent...

You have possibly broken the switch, inside the units Phono Jack, this is a common thing, there is a little switch, in the Jack, that cuts OFF the Internal speakers, when used. Sometimes the ball on the end of the Plug can force the contacts too far apart and they don't make contact and cut off the internal speakers. This is a difficult fix, as the whole laptop must be disassembled, the part unsoldered, and another good part re-installed. As a cheap workarround, get an inexpensive USB soundcard, and some small external speakers. Otherwise it's off to the repair shop, or get yourself a service manual and do it yourself.
