The Ink waste tank filters are usually change by a technician or the counter can be turned back. The ink waste tank is found at the base of the printer
The "Ox18" series errors can be removed by resetting the printer. Unplug the USB cable from the printer, remove the ink cartridges. When the "Insert ink cartridges" message appears unplug the power cord from the printer. Wait 1 minute (at least), then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer if it didn't come on by itself. Reinsert the ink, close the unit and print a calibration page if prompted to do so. Finally reconnect the USB cable to the printer.
If this doesn't work, the unit needs service (or replacement if the service call will cost more than a new printer).
The 'ink system failure' error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes. This happens if you use poorly filled refilled cartridges or you let the cartridge run all the way to empty and the printer sucks air into the system. You will need to purge the air lines to correct the error. We have a step by step guide to do this in an article posted on our services page at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ You should be back up and printing in about 10 minutes.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
I know this sounds crazy but I did this and others have too, it worked.Hold down four buttons at the same time ( OK, Cancel, Black , Color ) and turn the power off. Note:I figured out how to hold the 4 keys down with one hand and push the on/off switch at the same time.Once you power the printer back up is will take a few minutes to go through maintenance. Then it will “hopefully” go back to normal. I did this 2x’s.HP gives you a procedure that doesn't work! They just want to make money off fixing it every 6 months. They are in the service, repair and “ink business” not printer manufacturing.
I have a Photosmart C6180 all in one and get an error message 0xc18a0101 Ink System has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a101.
I put new cartridges in and tried to recalibrate as mentioned by someone on the board. Can anyone help, please?
