Question about Brother MFC 420CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
This is another new problem I have never encountered on these machines.
My first inclination would be to reset the machine back to factory defaults.
You can try the reset available in the menu, but there is a service reset you can use that will do a better job.
First you need to enter Maintenance Mode, there are two methods.
1. Make sure the machine is ON and unplug the power cord.
2. Hold in the Menu button and plug the machine back in. Keep holding
the button until all the lights flash and the display says Maintenance.
OR
On the numeric keypad, press MENU, *, 2, 9, 6, 4 all within 2 seconds.
All the lights should flash and the display should say Maintenance.
Now that you are in maintenance mode you can press 0 and then 1 for a full reset of everything including stored phone numbers.
Now press 99 and wait for the unit to reset back into it's nornal mode.
Try your fax again. Also, make sure your school has not instituted some
kind of new policy you are not aware of.
If this doesn't work, leave Brother an e-mail or call their 800 number.
Unlike some companies Brother never charges for tech support, and the
call is free.
