Question about Computers & Internet
I have a DP-G301 ethernet print server. The setup is on Vista and the print server is connected into a Fuji Xerox DocuPrint 3055 (the printer name on the system is FX78BF46). When I did the installation for the print server, I had to run it as administrator so that Vister would install the print server. There may have been some setting that I missed in the installation, but the print server will not communicate with the printer. The printer works fine if I hard wire it to the wireless router, and I can access its web page and print. I can also access the web page for the print server both hard wired and wireless. But I can't see the printer through the print server and nor will it print. Is this a Vister problem, or do you have a solution to my dilema?
I look forward to your response at your convenience.

I'm having much the same problem with my IOGear print server and my Vista ntebook. I have 2 printers USB connected to my print server, and the print server ethernet connected to my router. If I ethernet connect my notebook everything is just fine, but as soon as I go wireless my IOGear print server software does not see the server. Vista continues to see it and I can connect to it for admin purposes using its IP address through Internet Explorer. Solve Mac's problem and you'll probably solve mine as well.

If I am correct, you are connecting the print server to the Xerox with a parallel cable. If so, you are printing two different ways when you connect with an ethernet cable. When you connect the printer with an ethernet cable you are probably printing TCP\IP to the IP Address of the NIC Card (in the printer). When you connect with a print server, the print servers IP Address becomes the one you would use as the port for the printer object in Windows Printers & Faxes.
