I have had my new xbox360 premium for 4 months and never had a problem. Lately, in the last month, the xbox makes a real bad sound until it warms up after about 30 seconds. But now, in the last 2 days, within 5 minutes of starting it up, it freezes every time. The only thing i can do at all is manually restart it. Never had a red ring. I also have a NYKO intercooler that i put on after i owned the 360 for 1 month. I have also emptied the memory cache to no avail. What do I do?
If the clearing of cache didn't work, try to check the format of the time and date if its correct and try to detached the hard drive. use the console without the hard drive. if the console works and didn't experience any freezing on the screen. its the hard drive that has a problem. if its purchased with the console it has a 1 year warranty, but if purchased seperately it has a 90-days period of warranty. so use it =)

The XBOX360 requires a update file for each XBOX game to play on it. Not all games are supported. If your XBOX360 is connected to the internet it will automatically check for an update when a XBOX game is inserted. If your XBOX360 is not connected to the internet then you can burn a DVD or CD rom from a computer with the update files and insert the disc into the XBOX360 and update the files. Or you can load then to a USB jump drive and plug the jump drive to the USB port on the XBOX360 and update from that. The details are available from here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/systemupdates.htm
And remember not all XBOX games will play on the XBOX360. Only ones with updated files. So if it does not play after the file update then it is not supported. Microsoft updates these files quarterly so check back once a month for more updates.
this is a very bad problem. ive had a 360 4 times and still has this problem well im really sorry to tell you but ur 360 is dead. but u can wrap a towel which will probably last ur 360 a good month, then it'll break again. or you could spend a couple bucks to repair and probably last for 5 months. its a 50/50 chance itll last that long
A number of possible things could be wrong. The xbox360, if has been laying on its side could of overheated and the electrical components could of melted. This is common and in the manual it is advised you stand it up. Second reason could be the update, try reinstalling the update, this way its back to its default since you installed it.
Hello my name is Tim Ehrhart, I repair 360's for a living and it sounds like yours is going to red ring on you. If it is only 6 months old then it is under warantee and you should either take it back to the store or call 1-800-469-9269 and they will ship you a box to ship it back to them. If your warantee is void then you can repair it using the guide found here http://llamma.com/xbox360/repair/Xbox-360-error-codes.htm I hope this helps you. Please take a little time to leave me feedback as I am new and am trying to gain a good rep.
try blowing the air holes with a compress air cans. or take it apart and clean the inside. dust can build up with 3 months of playing depends on your area if you have pets or smokers in the area, dust comes from all sorts.
so try keeping your XBOX360 cooled as possible and keep it cleaned.
i use a air compressor when cleaning mine i try to clean it like every 3-4 months depending on how much I play it.
So keep it clean also red lights could mean no video device connected too, so check your video / audio connector.
