Sorry to say you got a bad hard  drive. Call MS or take the system back to walmart for a new 1 because I dont think they will give you a new hard drive. Who knows they might, call and ask!

Gives me an error E 68 what is that? New xbox is only 10 months old.

The e68 error on your Xbox 360 is caused by a hard drive/HDD problem, much like all of the problems in the "e6x" family of error codes on the Xbox 360 platform. It can be caused by an internal connection error with the hard drive, a general failure of the hard drive, or overheating of the hard drive. Basically, there is quite a large range of things that can cause the Xbox 360 e68 problem, which can make troubleshooting the issue slightly difficult.

Basically, there is quite a large range of things that can cause the Xbox 360 e68 problem, which can make troubleshooting the issue slightly difficult.

To fix the e68 code on your Xbox 360 is to remove the internal hard drive and try playing your console without it. If it then works, then you can be sure that you can permanently fix the problem. If not, then you will have more serious issues on your console that will need to be checked over by Microsoft, as the e68 is generally believed to be related only to your console's hard drive/HDD.

Hope this helps.

I just turned on my 360 elite and it displays an E68 system error and to contact tech support. What does this mean?

E68: Hard Drive Error... It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it, This can also be caused by a Hard Drive Eprom Error. Some also believe this might be caused by a problem with the fans

Hello! no need to worry! the E68 error code is one of the more simple things to fix. most of the time it's just simply a hardware fluke. Attached you will find detailed instructions on how to successfully restore your hard drive and eliminate the e68 error code. If unfortunately, you must purchase a new hard drive, you can find reasonably priced drives at your local electronics or computer store.
If the steps listed in the link fail, the contact information for Microsoft is included as well. Good Luck!!

The xbox360elite the red light flashes and e68 comes up on the screen with different language on the tv screen is also showing.

E68 means that you have a bad hard drive. Take out your hard drive and turn the unit on to confirm. Once this is done just buy a new hard drive and your good to go! Or now Microsoft just released where you can use a Flash drive :]
