The SANSA appears in my computer as a portable device and I do not know how to ask FREEUNDELETE to scan it...It only shows me drives C, D, and E...?

    Thanks.

  • cristianratz May 10, 2009

It is listed if I go to my computer. But when I run FREEDELETE, it does not list it in the list of FREEDELETE...I have no idea why!

  • Anonymous May 15, 2009

I'm also trying to undelete somethign from my daughter's sansa. when connected it doesn't mount as a drive and therefore most undelete utilities don't see it as a storage device (I guess). Any other suggestions?

It is possible to recover your lost recordings.

First things first: DO NOT take any more recordings with the MP3 that you want to recover records from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of recovery.

Then Connect the MP3 to your computer as it should appear as a "Removable Drive" or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a data recovery utility that will recover your recordings with Wondershare Recovery Software from the following link:

Video Audio Photo Recovery (if you are running Windows OS)
Mac Data Recovery (from MacUpdate site)

Do NOT try & write anything back to your MP3 until you can recover your recordings safely!

You may try asoftech data recovery which helped me before. You can download trial for free
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/

Please be noted that your Sansa e250 memory should show as a drive letter in your explorer, if not, you need to take out your memory card and connect using a card reader, or plug-in to card reader slot if there's any on your computer.

Thereis a tool called free undelete that can recover files from virtually anything. You can download it and install and give it a shot. Usage is simple. Connect your player when its shown as a drive in my computer open free undelete. Scan the player for deleted file. When its found you will have the option to restore it to the original location(your player) or your computer. Try it and let me know. You can download it from the link below

Doesn't it list the portable device in the drive list? If it doesn't then let me know and we will find another way to do it.

You can try to restore this deleted recording file back from this player with a USB drive data recovery freeware:
http://freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/04/usb-drive-recovery.html

Note: Do not save anything new file on this player in case that any new file would rewrite your recording file and make it gone forever.
Do not save this restored recording file in case of data recovery failure.

Hello, cristianratz! Don't worry. I recommend you to use this photo recovery software (also recover audio and video files); it can help you recover your lost files from your Mp3 player:

For Windows Users -----> Photo Recovery Software

For Mac OS X Users -----> Mac Photo Recovery Software

Kind Suggestion: Before your files are retrieved, do not save more files to the device (or memory card) in case the original files (your multimedia files) are overwritten.
Best wishes!

Retrieval of deleted voice recorded file

maybe, there are programs that retrieve deleted files, but sadly you need to buy them.

this only works if you havn't added any new voice recording (or a lot of voice recordings) or if you havn't reformatted your player.

Deleting files from Sansa e250

The only way I know to delete music files or voice or FM recordings, is straight from the User's manual on the CD: 1. Set the e250 to MSC mode. 2. Plug it in to your computer with the USB connector. 3. Open the Sansa e250 drive in My Computer and browse to the MUSIC folder (or RECORD folder)and delete the files there. (That's where you also add music files, by dragging from other explorer windows.) To delete (or add) photo and video files, you have to use the Media Converter, which you install from the disk that came with the e250.
