I have no instruction manual for this, and it keeps starting me out in New York. No matter what I do, I can't get it to start out at home.

Contact Cobra (website) or Google the full model number on the unit with "manual" to try to locate a free one.

Where can I download a manual for a Navatlas #xnav3550?

If you look on their website www.dualav.com under the tab "mobile video, navigation" you will see the gps unit click on the picture of it. On the right-hand side of the screen you will see where you can download and print the manual and quick start guide.
