Panasonc th-42px500u picture is too big, but zoom adjust is greyed out. how do I fix it?

I am using the composite inputs, comcast cable source. This picture is too big, but the option to adjust the zoom is greyed out and not available. But as I am watching football, the scores in the left corner are cut off - I can see the score, but not the team. And this is on both HD and normal channels. Any help would be appreciated.

And to clarify, the Aspect button on the remote does nothing, either.

The problem is in the TV settings not the cable box. There should be a button on the remote to cycle through the settings. Not sure which button it is but I've dealt with it before.

SOURCE: I have a comcast Motorola HD capable cable box

Here sounds like your override setting on cable box needs to be set.
Here is how to fix that-
1. On remote push the button at the top that says CBL or Cable.
2. On remote push power button.
3. On the remote push the menu button.
This should bring up an internal menu called user settings.
4 Use the remote to scroll down to 4:3 OVERRIDE and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys on the remote to change the value to 480i and see if this clears up your problem. If not repeat and change the setting to 480p and one of these settings should fix your problem.

Good Luck and please rate this solution.

SOURCE: how can I have a full view of a hd station?..

If you have to use the "ASPECT" button on the remote, set the screen to "JUST" it gives you full screen without "morphing" the picture. If you are using HD cable, SAT, Or FIOS, check the main settings menu in the cable/sat/fios box. make sure its 16 x 9 or "Full" If you still have an issue, post a comment with the details of products connected to your TV. Makes and models and I will help you further. Hope this helps.

Is my Magnavox 1T HDD rECORDER COMPABILE WITH cOMCAST cable Box ?

If your Comcast box has a composite output, you'll be able to record SD shows. Use RCA composite video and audio cables between the box and the recorder. You'll have to set the box to the channel you want to record and leave it on. Then set the HDD/DVD unit to record from video input (L1 rear, L2 front) for the appropriate length of time. The manual explains this. The manual is available from Funai who built the unit with the Magnavox name: http://funaiport.com/upload/MAGNAVOX/Manual/MDR537H_EN_OM.pdf . See pages 19 and 42. If your TV and/or cable box only have a limited number of video inputs/outputs, you may need to daisy chain the composite video cables from the cable box to the DVD/HDD unit's video in. Then connect another composite cable from the DVD/HDD video out to the TV.

This Magnavox unit can only read analog (NTSC) cable video signals without a set top box. You will not be able to record a show and then watch another with the cable box.

I hope this helps.

(I know that my cable system's box has a composite video out. So it does work with most of the Comcast boxes. Many of the manuals are available here: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/cable-tv/cable-box-user-manuals/ )

TH-50PX77U inputs

Many times a computer's post screens will not show up a TV set, and once the computer itself has loaded the drivers and settings, the set may need to be shut off and turned back on for the HDNI or PC signal to be detected.

It is also possible the settings you selected for display properties cannot be displayed on the TV.

As far as the component video signal, are the connections correct? Sometimes people mistake the composite red, white and yellow for the composite system that divides the red, blue and green video signals.

While also possible, but rare- there may be poorly soldered connections on the "A&D" board (logic board) .

ELMO Visual Presenter (Model EV-2000AF) does NOT display COLOR properly onto HDTV monitor. (Appears Bluish or Reddish w/ 2 Composite Cables connected)

Those jacks you are plugging into on the HDTV are not composite inputs. They are component. The reason the color is not right is, you have to have a Red, Green and Blue connection.

The black and white picture from the 1 cable is because you are using a composite signal into a component green.

Big difference between a composite and a component signal. I hope this helps.

When I plug my PS2 or VCR into the back of my TV using red, white (audio), and yellow (Video) cables, the picture is grey and fuzzy. I have plugged the yellow into the far left port marked "Y". I...

Yellow is a composite output and should be plugged into a composite input, whereas Y indicates the COMPONENT input of the TV. If you don't have a separate composite input use a scart to phono (rca) adapter in your tv's scart input.

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply and remember, even if you don't vote for me a please and thank you goes a long way.

I have a VA320E - The picture does not fit on the screen. It is too big in all of the modes. Can I adjust this?

You may have inadvertently activated a zoom function on your TV. Check the Remote and press the Zoom button a few times.. This should fix the problem. If it doesn't try adjusting the image settings being transmitting from whatever your source is. IE, Satellite Receiver, Cable Box, so on.

How can I configure the picture to match screen size? My picture is smaller than actual size of screen. I have Comcast cable if that makes any difference.

There is a # button (hd zoom) on your Comcast remote that will adjust the picture size. Also make sure you are set to the proper resolution on the Comcast receiver (720p) and that the Dynex television is set to the proper input for high definition.

I am using a Panasonic TH-50PD12U plasma display as tv monitor. Basic digital cable hooked up through vcr and s-video cable to display. The picture is not clear. Hooked up the computer and the words are...

What connectors do you have at each end, ie output and input?
Is it S-Video at each end or are you converting, as I suspect, composite video out, yellow RCA plug, to S-Video in on monitor?
Converting composite to S-Video via a passive cable doesn't yield good results, as its simply feeding the composite to the two S-Video signal-components, Chroma and Luminance.
As the video output of a VCR has limited bandwidth, the signal out will never be perfectly clear, but if you can get hold of an active 'powered' booster / sharpener / crispener unit, it will help to clean up and amplify the signal, so improving clarity.
Another point:
A lot of generic Composite<>S-Video cables simply bridge or short out the C 'chroma' & Y 'luminance' pins.
A hack to improve the timing signals is to solder a 470pF ceramic capacitor across C and Y as shown in schematic.
This circuit show S-video input, but may work as out.

Cant see full picture w/ Vizio 32in HDTV

You would look for a format button on your remote.
Dish Network: bottom left the asterisk "*" button
DirecTV: top left, second from the top labelled "format"
Cable remote: look for format, zoom, or aspect ratio

Pressing this button should scroll you through the options.
