I have ran into this problem before. I have actually had low batteries I thought were good too ha! I have had to actually reset the stat to get the low battery to stop flashing. There are multiple ways to reset the thermostats, depending on model, but removing the batteries and waiting has worked, along with actually having a reset button somewhere on the stat. Hope this helps!

My Honeywell thermostat still says batt low even after I changed the batteries.

Off position then reverse batteries polarities and wait 5 sec. Then place new batteries back to normal position.

Thermostat display reads lo batt replaced batt still reads lo batt

Suggest have battery tested.
Most thermostats cost more to repair than to simply replace them.

Honeywell thermostat 8000 series- some of the buttons on the screen are not working. Replaced the batteries-still no fix. Read that there is a 3 volt battery also. Do you know where this is located?

Base on my experience. It's not fixable. Better just buy a new one. Don't has to be Honey Well brand. You can buy
any brand from Lowes or Home depot. It's compatible.

Good luck and enjoy

The batt. may be not good. Take to most any parts place, they usually will
check the batt. condition for free,of course if bad will try to sell you a new
one.

Even after replacing the battery, the programmable Honeywell thermostat still shows "Low Batt."

Turn control to off. Remove the batteries for at least one hour. If the display message still reads "bat lo", leave control off, batteries out, and disconnect the red wire on back and wait another hour. Reconnect red wire, put new batteries in and turn system on. It's like a reboot.
