Question about Viking 30" Professional Select Built-in Electric Single Oven - VESO130

Viking ves0107css electric oven does not heat up at all

When turned to bake or convection the fan goes on. I turn theh temperature dial to 325, for example, and sometimes the light goes on. After about 15 seconds the fan stops. There is no heat in the oven, neither element warms up.

I checked the heat sensor which was loose and put it back into position. I noticed that the broiler element doesn't heat at all. The bottom element gets hot but only for 5, maybe 10 seconds.

a Viking repair man said it is more than likely the motherboard which is poorly insulated above the oven and tends to melt from the self-clean setting on the oven. Estimating the replacements to be above $700, I did not investigate any further and chose to buy another oven, not a Viking.

Yes, I know, but Viking replacements are expensive anyway, I looked on line and I can replace the oven with a cheaper new one for the same price. I have no other way to figure the problem out. If I replace the sensor and the elements, we are looking at several hundred $$ anyway. I appreciate your input.

SOURCE: Oven starts baking OK but will not stay hot.

This sounds like the heat sensor probe. If you open your oven, look at the back wall near the top. There should be a piece if metal clamped there. When you start your oven, the click is the on switch telling a relay to turn on power. After it gets to the certain temperature, the probe tells the relay to cut power. When you restart the oven after it's warm and cooling down, the sensor probe is giving the relay a "false" hot reading and the relay turns it off.Since it cycles only once or twice, the probe probably gets "stuck".Is the second cycle real short?Good luck! SOURCE: elements in top oven won't heat. light comes on

More than likely requires a new element to be fitted.

Instructions for a ignis electric oven as there is no temperature guide or modes on front of oven

I don't see what looks like your model anywhere, or a manual for any model, or a company website, so if no one can help you try this.

The left dial could be- bake, broil, fan, convection cook, now the bottom pan should come out so you can see the bake element.

Turn it one setting and see what happens, either broil (top),,, bake (bottom), convection fan (bottom), turn and wait to see what happens.

Right should be temp, not sure if the dial has a stop or you can spin, but it at 12:00, put at 6:00 I say this maybe 300deg F.

Get over temp gauge (cheap).

If you don't get any help, then you need to try and see what does what and mark it down.

If you can't see top burn, maybe top pan come out so you can see it.

They get red hot, so you can tell which one turn on.

Sorry, can't find any info.

Viking 27" Electric Oven Noise

Hello. The Viking does have fans which operate continuously to insure even baking. If it sounds like fans running, this is the convection fan operating. J.

My upper oven/ convection function on my dacor ecs230b will not heat

Bake and convection bake settings both use the bottom bake element to heat. It would be unusual for bake to work without conv. bake working. You also have pure convection which uses a different element surrounding the conv. fan on the back of the unit. If you press a feature and nothing happens it's the touch pad. If it comes on then turns back off it's probably the ERC (clock). If it comes on and wont heat only in pure conv. possibly an upper relay board or element problem.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda

Dacor Oven - convection fan stays on while on "bake" setting

Question: does the unit appear to hold the correct temperature? Most convection units only turn the heating elements on and off...not the fan. If the unit is reporting operating temp and then taking other direction...and it is cooking right...you're done.
