GE oven flashed f7 d6 error. Replaced key pad, same error again. Replaced ERC board and still f7 d6. What now?

It's possible that a faulty ERC (Electronic Range Control) could damage a new keypad, but it's not very common. The F7 D6 error code indicates a problem with the communication between the keypad and the ERC. Here are a few other things you could try:
  1. Check the ribbon cable connection between the keypad and the ERC. Make sure it is securely connected and not damaged in any way.
  2. Try resetting the oven by turning off the power to it for a few minutes, then turning it back on. This may help clear any temporary glitches that are causing the error.
  3. If the above steps don't work, it's possible that there is a wiring problem or a faulty component in the oven that is causing the error. In this case, it may be best to call a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

My oven keeps randomly beeping and flashing F-1 recently. When I push cancel it stops, sometimes for an hour and sometimes for a week. I have tried to reset by turing circuit on and off, but problem does...

Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

Have a GE Monogram Oven Single Wall Unit. Began Flashing F1 last night. Model GL2788960. Its hard wired so I turned off breaker let it cool down and turned back on. Still Beeping.

F1 touch pad / ERC test This simple test will help determine
whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is
defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single
assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC
(Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or
making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing

2. Gain access inside the control panel.

3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC

4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was

5. Turn the power back on.

6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound)

7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

My magic chef oven flashes F-5 when we try to turn on the oven!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F5 means Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC)
ERC - Electronic Range Control. Watchdog - a combination of hardware and software which acts as an internal scheme, disconnecting the systems output from the process in the event of a malfunction.
Turn off the Oven for 2-3 hours, the oven will reset itself. However, if the error still persists then follow the procedure to troubleshoot the error code--
  • Disconnect power to stove
  • Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  • Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  • Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  • Turn power back on to stove.
  • Watch for the F5 and listen for the beep.
  • If you get the F5 and beep, replace the ERC.
  • If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F5 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks Rylee
