SOURCE: Polycom Fx doesn't power on or show any signs of life

Try disconnecting the ISDN module and then cycling the power. If that doesn't work speak to your support provider about repair costs. Ultimately you may need to replace it because of its age (it might be End of Life and not available for repair)

I plugged the wrong power supply into my Neat ND1000 scanner now gives me a paper jam error?

Plugging in wrong power supply may have damaged the electronics of your scanner. Improper high voltages or incorrect polarity are deal breakers.

Have camera 900tvl but power supply was not with it only plug on leads so I do not wanmt to blow camera with wrong polarity from peter

  • Look at the link the 900tvl models are all 12v
  • It should then be a 12 volt supply neccesary not higher but 4 amps is not sufficient in any case, choose somewhere between 6 and 8 amp so that the power supply is not become to hot.

Bunker hill camera

If you are sure that you've fastened the RG59 properly, most probably you had your power supply pins on incorrect positions. Just try to interchange the polarity of your power supply that is connected to your camera. Most analog camera's need the right polarity. "Positive to Positive" and so goes for the "Negatives".

Used my line6 adapter on boss mt2. there was a little smoke at the ac in. the pedal stopped working. please help!

Which Line 6 power supply? If you look at the specs stamped into the L6 supply you should see the voltage, current capacity, and polarity (if DC). Polarity would have a symbol showing an inner post and outer shell and indicate which is positive....referred to as positive or negative tip. Let me know what these specs are and I can have a better idea of what may have happened. Sounds like it burned out a protection circuit designed to protect the pedal from incorrect power applied. Will it still work with a battery?

Move camera 35 feet from codec and codex cannot detect camera and cannot move camera, however camera works???

an external power supply needs to be used when going that far from CODEC

try using CAT 5/6 cable for video portion if you want but you will need an external power supply to get camera to work at distance

Canon GL1 won't power up

Typically, fuses protect the "hot" side of circuits. The reverse polarity puts the ground plane on all the power feeds in the circuit, and the normal ground plane becomes hot with unregulated voltage, which will fry anything not rated for the full supply, and it will do it before the fuse blows. There are often fusible links in small voltage circuits such as camcorders, and they're basically low ohm resisters that open up when overloaded, and act as fuses. You have to really know circuitry to spot them, or have a schematic. If you can get a used camera with a lens problem on ebay, you could probably swap out the circuit boards and get it to work, otherwise, the dreaded repair guy might have to be engaged. I've rarely seen a camera revived after having this happen to it. Sorry, wish I had better news, and good luck.

Polycom 2201-03309-001

The older Polycom SoundStations have power supplies that allow either anaog or digital signals. The phones themselves will work on either.

If your office phone systems are different, or if the extension it was originally plugged into was configured for analog and you are now plugging into digital would explain the problem.
