No sound coming from built in speaker

Is your computer custom built? Or a factory built one? If it's factory built I'm going to need the model name.. For an example I have a Dell A950. It's name can normally be found on the front or back.

I need this because I can't help you solve your problem if I have no idea what hardware you have. Therefore I can't know where to get the driver to fix your speaker. The built in speaker probably needs a specific driver to be used.

Help

The speakers themselves don't need drivers, but the sound card in the computer does. If yours are missing you can find them online. If this is a name-brand computer, visit the manufacturer's website and follow the link to support and downloads. For a home-built or custom-built machine, you will want to get drivers from the motherboard manufacturer if the sound is integrated, or the sound card maker if it's a separate card. Since you don't give the brand of computer I can't give you any specific links, but a few minutes searching on the Web will give you the URL.

If the drivers are installed and Windows recognizes the sound card, but you just don't get sound, be sure the speakers are plugged in to the right jack, the sound card settings are correct, and that the speakers have the right power connected. Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious things.

If you can get inside the laptop, try reseating the speaker wires to the motherboard and if that doesn't work, then your speakers are blown are the moterhboard is bad.

Speakers

how do you speakers plug in? is it a ear phone jack? if so then you need sound drivers. is this a pci card or is it built into your motherboard? if pci card, try removing it, inspect it for brand and possible part number. then get drivers from the company that made the card's web site support. if built into mother board....
if a main brand of pc. goto their web site and goto support drivers. If you have usb speakers then you will need to goto the brand of speakers web site and goto support drivers.
also do you have the lastest updates for your operating system?
sometimes these drivers are built into updates.
good luck, if you need more help you need to post brands and model numbers of your items.

Not working the sound in my laptop in built speaker

Hi. If this is what you have, you may have a great deal of trouble finding
drivers as it appears to have mostly Intel inside. You can check their site
for XP64 drivers for the various components.
http://vaio-online.sony.com/prod_info/vgn-cr11gh_ b/specifications.html
Microsoft does have a generic HD driver
based on the Intel format. You may end up better off installing Vista64. Sony may be able to help you
swap your VHB86 for the 64-bit version.

Speakers work...just not when plugged into desktop

Hi, what you probably need to look for is driver for your sound card which is built-in into your motherboard. Try to get the model no. of your mb and proceed to their website to download appropriate drivers. Drivers are OS specific. If your sound card in a plug-in PCI card, then you would have to check the chipset number or the sound card model no. to get the right driver. Hope this helps.
