SOURCE: Can you transport this fridge on it's side??

Not recommended, but if you must, set it upright but don't plug in for 2 days so all fluids and oil can settle back into the compressor

Hello,

Hi,
This is common. Unplug it or turn off the circuit breaker for a full 5 minutes. Then plug-in and follow instructions. Things will be good

Kenmore 20 Porcelain Plus Refrigerator. Model number 8740911 makes banging noise when the cooling cycle ends. Quite loud. Refrigerator works fine. Any ideas?

Make sure the fridge is level back to front and left to right. Banging is normally the compressor shuddering on its rubber mounts, or the compressor is failing. Watch the unit from the rear as it shuts off. You may need to remove a cover held by a couple of screws.

Water collecting inside refrigerator

At the back is a little channel with a hole in that drains to the outside of the fridge. Remove the drawers and shelf and blow through the hole with a drinking straw.

54409 // water accumulates under veg and fruit drawers?

Look inside at the back to see if there is a collecting troff which collectes the water runing down the cool plate. In the middle of the troff is a run off hole which takes the water outside to the back to an evaporation tray. if this hole gets blocked it floods the fridge and you know the rest. Some fridges have a looped plug which you pull out of the troff hole to clear the blockage. I know this as my fridge does this too.

Collecting water at bottom of frig inside under drawers.

begin by removing the grill on the front at floor level. look under there and you will see the evaporation pan. next pull the fridge out from the wall so you can get behind it. there you will see the tube. to unclog it you will have to disconnect it at the top and force hot water into it using a turkey baster.
