I restored my acer aspire 5580 notebook to restore factory settings. earlier i created a backup folder in in c drive. i lost all my important files! AND downloads :(
earlier the DATA(D:) showed zero memory. now it shows 20gb used memory. so i guess all my files hav gone into (D:) but when i try to open it, it says "folder is empty"
ho to retrieve my folders? please help, i'd really appreciate...

aspire netbook to factory defaults Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. If windows is running you can start it by going to Programs, Acer Empowering Technology and run the Acer eRecovery Management. Note that on the bottom of the eRecovery Management window are 3 choices, Backup, Burn Disk and Restore. Click on Restore. Here you have the choice of select Restore System to Factory Default.
If windows is not working but the system boots -
Reboot the system and when the Acer logo appears, hold down the ALT key and press F10. This starts the recovery process, just follow the instructions.
