Had my X BOx for over a year and suddenly it has changed black and white from what used to be colour. It plays in colour for about 20 minutes and then changes black and white.

Enter into menu, go to picture settings, and select the system settings option, and make this adjust to "Auto". If it too do not help you, contact any service technician. Will be a fault in the main board. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
Hello - I am wondering if you are using the S-Video input to your display. If an S-Vid cable is bad, you will either get No Picture at all or only a Black and White picture.
Was playing around with the TV's menu and changed the Tuning Band from "HRC cable" to "IRC cable". Suddenly I have colour again. No one had adjusted any of the controls, so still not sure why one day it was fine and the next day it had gone to black and white, but changing the Tuning Band fixed the colour problem for me.
Well - it's fixed - but no thanks to anything I did. It's just all of a sudden working fine again. I tried three different dvd's the other night, and all were black and white. But last night the same dvd's were back to colour. Who knows?
But thanks for asking.
The IC (integrated circuit) that controls color might be bad or the filter for the color burst might be defective. In either case a qualified TV repair person should be enlisted to fix this problem. The color burst signal uses vector mathematics to control the color output of your device, it the color burst is removed the picture will display a monochromatic (black and white) picture.
Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.
The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.
