Question about Panasonic Palmcorder PV-DV53 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Lightly-used Panasonic camcorder shows black and white horizontal line image on LCD screen. This occurs when the screen is flipped out at 90 degrees to the camera body (the regular "out" position used for filming). When the LCD screen is rotated upside-down (twisted on the pivoting joint) and then hinged back toward the camera body, the horizontal line image changes somewhat - different horizontal line patterns appear. Then at about 30 degrees from camera body, the true image to be captured suddenly appears. Even when screen is pushed further and snapped back into camera body, with the LCD facing outward, the real image continues to come through just fine. It looks like some connection in the swivel/hinge joint might be off. I'm wondering if anyone's had this trouble, if they've been able to fix it, any ideas on how to determine what's going on, etc. Wondering if maybe there's just some debris caught in the joint, or...? Thank you!
The hinge is definetly damaged and is going to need replacing. these hinges do need replacing if used allot because this is a moving mechanical part. This is not a easy thing to do, it needs to be done by a panasonic technician.
