Did you recreate the partitions you deleted? sounds like there's not a partition on the drive. when you boot the machine press the F1 key. that will take you to the system bios.. then press F9 .. that will set the bios to the factory default settings.. then press F10 that will save and exit the bios. If you have a partition and its set active..you should be able to procede from there. If you continue to egt the error message.. you need to verify the part5ition is valid and active. formatted would help as well..

hi if you are using windows vista/7 recovery disk to reinstall OS, then while choosing drive there must be advance option below it..choose it and then delete all the drives and then create new partitions from all the unallocated space..and then choose the drive from newly created partition to reinstall OS..

to backup all imp. data before doing so use UBUNTU LIVE CD..then do the clean install of vista/7

use GPARTED live to boot.
choose the HDD
delete all the parition
create new partition (NTFS)

Hi nishantsi762,

You can still use the One Key Recovery after formatting your drive C and installing XP. Just make sure that you will not reformat the whole hard drive because One Key Recovery image is in the hidden partition of your hard disk.

Hope it helps,

To create a recovery partition in harddisk

Unfortunately the Recovery partition could not be reacreated manually. But you can recover it by using the Y410 Recovery Disc but that means reinstalling everything and youll end up with windows vista again. You can reinstall XP but do not delete the partition that usually has 10-15GB of space because that is the hidden partition for the recovery. You can call 18774536686. If your computer is out of warranty, it would only cost you 59$ for the recovery disc

One key recovery not working

This problem exist because once the 31GB default partition is formatted NTFS, it reduces in size. So, I found this solution.

1. Boot your machine with Ubuntu LiveCD
2. Go to Disk Utility and remove the C partition (31GB) and do not format it. Just RAW partition.
3. Now, Power off your lenovo Y410.
4. Press the NOVO key to start OneKey recovery and follow the prompts

You should get an option to recover sucessfully.

Enjoy
