I would just buy a MB service manual that will have all your cars specs, Chilton, Haynes manuals are very useful and cost about $20 USD

Mercedes benz timing

Timing marks for any vehile, even a Mercedes, are on the harmonic balancer. The pullys that drive the belts is bolted to the crankshaft and that knotch needs to be marked with a white paint pen.Line it up with the timing tab on the block right there at the harmonic balancer.

Replacing timing belt; need timing belt markings for 2000 mazda protege

If it has the twin camshafts, then you need to align the bottom crankshaft pulley marking (there's only one marking at top dead centre). Then you'll need to align the two camshaft pulleys. You need to use the first two sets of markings and then double check the markings on the camshafts themselves, within the valve cover area. Always double check the crank shaft sensor is aligned properly on re-assembly as misalignment will result in a non-start and you might doubt your own work. Don't worry about timing belt failure or misalignment on the twin cam engine as this is a "safe-engine" and will not result in any damage.

2000 roadking efi we are changing over to gear driven cams we have the work done now we cannot seem to get the timing to go right we have the marks all line up but i guess we are not finding the true...

You have two "timings" to set on your Twin cam. The cams must be correctly timed to each other and then the combination must be timed to the pinion gear that drives the cams.

Now, Twin Cam engines are NOT my expertise but in all other Harley engines, the timing mark that you time the cam with has nothing to do with top dead center position of the crankshaft. There is a specific mark on the pinion gear that the cam has to be timed to or the timing will be incorrect. Knowing the way Harley does things, the same is true with the TC engine.

Good Luck
